How the list works:

Techmarine with the assault henchmen for the Rad grenades and Hammerhand.
Also, bolsters a ruin for the vindicare so he gets 2+ cover
Coteaz rides with the jokaero unit for shooting at Reserves and for sanctuary on the fire base
Psykers play keep away from the Psykic Hood and blast away

Question:

What do I spend the last 8 points on? I have 2 options

1) Add a single bland warrior to each squad of psykers. If they die to perils I still have a model left. Can score in the rhino. No kill point if I can hide it.

2) Get 2x Servo Skulls on the Techmarine. either they are scout/infiltrate blockers or they can make the Psykers scatter less for a turn if I go first.

Note 1: the bold stuff I already have. (everything but the 2 squads of psykers) If you think there is something better I could spend my last few points on I am open to options.

Note 2: I do not want to use any GK units (unless i can convert them into something else). I am trying to play a somewhat fluffy "Radical Inquisition" list.
example: the Techamaine is a Techpriest that has been converted to have a servo harness.

I would replace the techmarine with an Xenos inquisitor, with rad, and psychotropic grenades, leaving you with more points for DCA's or meltas. I also think the Psykers are not worth the points. So far Acro-flagellants have not let me down, against light vehicles and hordes

Hi svendrex. I've been trying to work out this shooty Jokaero unit of yours but I don't get it. If you shoot the lascannons then the melta will probably be out of range. If you cruise, disembark and shoot you have 3 BS3 attempts to kill a vehicle but then your squishy humans and monkeys are standing out in the open in midfield. If either the DCA or Jok chimera gets popped then they find it more difficult to support each other or utilise the cruiser/disembark/melta ability.

Wouldn't this unit be better with 2 plasma servitors (given that coteaz will be with them)? Then perhaps some naked acolytes who can hide behind a ruin/their chimera wreck to get cover saves for the heavy weapons?

As for your question, it seems the 2 acolytes would be best - it's what I am going for. Each acolyte could not only protect against perils, if your unit is de-mech'd whilst out of range of your enemy's small arms fire then it could take a lascannon hit or something similar. But I dunno, I'm a noob at this game - sorry if this is all too obvious.

The jokaero unit is not very efficient at taking on any one target,

BUT

It has the ability to take on any type of target, at a variety of ranges.

2 Lascannons for ranged tank hunting, 3 Meltaguns for short range tank hunting, 5 Storm Bolters for mid range anti-infantry shooting, 2 Heavy Flamer for close up anti infantry shooting.

I built the unit to make the most of the jokaero upgrade table. 2x jokaero gives you the best results on the table.

Extra Range is great for the Meltaguns
rending is good for the Storm Bolters and the Heavy Flamers
Armor and INV saves are good for defense.

When you add in sanctuary, it means the unit has some protection from getting close to the enemy.

So far, in my smaller playtesting games, the unit has done okay. It kinda whiffed against a necron player, (but I do not think we were doing the WBB correctly). Against a BA player, the unit immobilized a DC dread (with the storm bolter no less). Then the unit got out of the transport and Finished off an assault marine squad (maybe 4-5 people). Then the unit was caught in combat by a Librarian Dread who killed coteaz causing the unit to flee off the board.

==============

On the Techmarine

Getting the vidicare into bolstered terrain doubles his survivability. goes from taking 2 out of 6 wounds to 1 out of 6 wounds. He has not died to shooting yet. (has only died in close combat)

Also, eventually, my second HQ slot will have a Librarian, so I would use the Techmarine in the Elite Slot. So far it has worked out okay.
