Just to be to be sure....

Space Marine Librarian has to use Null Zone at the beginning of his shooting phase. It is not a shooting attack, do can he shoot or fleet?

Thanks

You're correct on one thing, he can shoot. Remember you no longer make a fleet of ??? movement (I still fall into that trap myself), instead you run. Either way, it is not a shooting attack, so yes you can use the power and then shoot or run.

My bad, I run Raven Guard, so he would fleet. But thanks.

You still don't "Fleet" anywhere. Fleet is no longer a verb. The USR "Fleet" allows you to run D6 inches, followed by an assault. So you would still "run", not "fleet".

No, you do NOT "Fleet" anywhere.

You Run. Fleet then lets you make an assault move after running; it is no longer the act of moving D6" in the shooting phase.

But "Fleeting" can surely be used to describe the act of doing those actions as a collective? Don't hate!

Its not "hating", its using the correct terminology.

Same as you dont "rapid fire" a bolter at enemies 12" away - you fire two shots using a rapid fire weapon

In a text only, rules discussing forum the correct terminology is very important.

This argument is so bad, it should be in a movie making fun of people who play miniature war games.

Good thing he didn't say frolic, scamper, dash or gallop. Man, it would be a relentless tongue lashing. Just kidding. But using correct terms are vital in understanding each other in this context.

The underlined above is also referred to as Double Tap by myself and now the FLGS I play at.. (Spread the word, its catchy)

E.G. Phrase: "Okay I have ten guys shooting, and four of them are in range to double tap."

OP Yes you can shoot or run after casting Null zone, as its a power that is not a psychic shooting attack so you are free to shoot or run as normal.

Yeah, you're right. We shouldn't get FLGS terminology mixed up with Dakka discussions with people from across the globe.

Ah, if only a mawcannon tongue was rapidfire, then I could make a really appropriate joke, or say something like "I c wat you did thar".

Close, but no double tap
