Using Shrike as an example. He gives the unit he is joined to infiltrate.

If you join another IC to the unit, does he count as part of the unit, and thus gets infiltrate, or does he negate the power as per the rulebook.

Pg 48 (BRB) Special Rules: "Unless specified in the rule itself (as in the 'stubborn' special rule), the unit's special rules are not conferred upon the character, and the character's special rules are not conferred upon the unit."

This sounds like a case of "specified in the rules itself." Kayvaan Shrike's "See, But Remain Unseen" Special Rule confers this ability onto models in his squad. The other IC is now in "his squad."

You also need the BRB FAQ, which changes the rules so that ICs join units before deployment, and not when the game starts. This lets Shrikes rule work at all, AND lets you join ICs to it.
