heres some pics of a game me and three buddies played the other night . it was a lot of fun the elite units such as the high landers and french old guard would not take orders and did what they wanted to do what their officers told them . the main french forces and cavarly met the british at the town , and bloody fighting ensued . my bristish cannons were hesitent to get closer to the battle and had to fire from an off angel in the rear . finally the scotts listened to colonel connaray and moved up and began to fight ... a little to late . me and my buds british line battailon were starting to route . also the brave heavy cav of the french broke through the town and flanked the cannons in the rear . under intense fire of grape shot from 9 pound guns they made it into combat . the game ended with a french victory . the british in full retreat . the day had gone to the french ! great game very cinematic . i suggest any one who enjoys the horse and musket period pick up warlords black powder rules . good for any scale . enjoy the pics

Looks very epic and fun! Is that 28mm scale you're using?

Wow! That looks like it was a fantastic game. Best parts: Cavalry charges, and the smoke coming from the cannons. Nice touch!

However, the scale does kind of put me off. I think I'll finally pick up Baccus 6mm's Napoleonic army starter set. It comes with the Polemos ruleset Marechal de L'Empirea and General de Division.

Does anyone know if Black Powder works at 6mm? Or if the Polemos rules are good enough.

I think with a calculator at hand, you can easily make it into any scale. An article said that one person used 10mm and just turned inches into cm.

Very nicely painted, I've always liked the look of old school warfare, just don't like the representations *1 man equals thirty* and such. I always liked the idea of just doing a one for one and your simply a lower ranking commander in one sector of a battlefield.

The pen is mightier then the sword, but you must keep a sword handy for when the pen runs out of ink.

i use 28 mm perry brothers and victrix but you can use any scale bigger 54mm or smaller 6 mm theres a couple of pages that address the scale changes in the black powder book . i wont change because i have so much invested in the 28mm scale but if i did it again i'd go for 15mm . very cool period to game ! thanks for the comments guys !
