hi guys. in my space wolves army i have 3 rhinos and 3 razorbacks and i didnt just want plain blue tanks. has anyone got any ideas for some free hand work i can put on them, like the sides, the top, or in one corner. i want them to stand out but after browsing the web for artwork to put on them i havnt found a thing apart from tribal designs, i was thinking maybe a celtic pattern but would it fit well with space wolves? id be interested to hear your ideas or possibly your pics of nice freehand work on tanks. Thanks

Space Wolves are pretty much power-armored vikings, and the vikings would adorn things with fairly intricate patterns.

Here are some viking artifacts that show the kinds of things they did, you can find more via Google. Putting those kinds of patterns on them would look great, if you ask me.

I always liked the look of the old Red/Yellow interlocking triangles that were on Space wolf vehicles.

Haven't seen anyone do that lately in real life as it can be timely and looks rather simple.

I ran a quick search and couldn't see anything on google, but I can upload some old pics from some old WDs.

May get it done sometime in the next day or so, as I won't be at home for the next few days.

If anyone else knows what I'm talking about (you could see it in tones of old 2nd edition books) then link it.

I recreated the pack marking (left shoulder pad pattern) on the outside of the top hatch. Looks good and creates a cohesive feel.

I will try to hunt down a photo.

This is a WIP photo, but the final images don't show the back hatch at all.

looking good, i am having 1 front corner with the pack markings on to break the colours down a little. i think the area on the top hatch is big enough to do more with. i like the weathering alot though .

I have celtic knotwork designs on all of my SW vehicles. you can find examples on-line quite easily but I will forewarn you that it is a time consuming and at times frustrating affair.
