There's a small group that gets together at Compleat Strategist, on 33rd St., between Madison and 5th Avenue. They have their own msg board, and communicate pretty avidly there to set up games. The store is only open late on Thursdays though, and they will charge you $5 after your first game day there. I don't know how you feel about paying just to have the chance to play, but they have really nice terrain and tables to use.
Otherwise, there's always the GW store in the NYU area. It's free to play there, but the area is a lot smaller, and it's usually packed with people on most nights.

thanks man! I gonna visit the gw and compleat strategist next week probably. I'm extremely rusty at gaming and I badly need supplies paint brushes and paints and glue!

if youre interested in a bit of a ride, you could take the train up to white plains and walk the short 2 block walk to comic book heaven. We meet on sundays from 12-5 and theres usually plenty of people looking for games. Plus the guy who runs the store, Bishop, is the man.

That would be the Warmongers, I used to play with them when I was in the city.

Yeah the fee is a bit of a drag but for real estate in midtown Manhattan there's not a lot you can do for free.
THe GW store is cool but crowded.

I used to play with the Warmongers when I was in the city and I still go to their tournaments. Great crowd. Just can't make it there on Thursdays anymore since I'm in NJ now.
