Subject: 500pt Eldar List - Is this viable?

Just got some eldar minis from my grandma (I'm convinced shes nuts as I don't play eldar and its my brother who graduated). At any rate, I was wondering if including an avatar in a 500pt list is remotely competitive, as I love the model, and don't have very much stuff as it is. Heres a quick list I threw together
HQ
Avatar of Khaine
(155)
Troops
Dire Avengers - Exarch, diresword + pistol
(142)
Pathfinders
(120)
Elites
Howling Banshees
(80)
497pts total

Just my 2 cents

If you have only those minis, go for it.
Do you have other models at hand?

What should I take other than the diresword? Also, I have all the models but the avatar. The only other ones I have are a banshee exarch, and a farseer with 3 warlock bodyguards

In this case, I'd keep the list as it is.

Thing is man, no-one's really too worried about what's in a 500 pt list. It can turn into a giant game of one-upsmanship if one player tries to bring in a warboss and a deathstar type nobz unit, or a unit of paladins or something. Beyond that there isn't a huge amount of competition in how hard your list is.
Your army looks fine, the avatar can handle most big things and your troops are good against a range of enemy infantry. Since you haven't enough points for baldestorm, the banshees would benefit from an exarch upgrade more than the avengers. Exarch with executioner is the best bet.
