Okay, this is all over the news still and I wonder what your guys' opinion is on this.
My personal opinion on him is pretty neutral, by my figuring I think most of your representatives and senators are schticking it to their various aids.

I think he did something incredibly stupid and he may have to look for a new job depending on how the rest of the dems feel. With that said I actually like the guy and tend to agree with his perspective on most issues. He's also very good when it comes to passionate speech.

I personally don't think he should have to find a new job, however I am on the other side of the fence from him on most topics, but he does have a certain charisma about him

I don't care about this sex scandal any more than I care about any other. People do things that are sexual, everyone knows this, but lots of people get butthurt over it.

Even as a Right wing potential nutjob I really hope he doesnt have to find a new job over his sexual exploits, though if he gets voted out because people dont like him for his political stands I wouldnt mind

I disagree with Wiener on almost everything he says.

Regardless, I don't think the man should be forced out of office simply because he sent a few half nude pictures to some women. Its his personal life, as long as he is doing his job it shouldn't matter in the least. However, Wiener did lie consistently about the whole endeavor, something that is more than enough to piss off constituents and SHOULD be grounds to force retirement.

If I were the Democratic Chair, I would defund him because he did something politically stupid.

Considering Sen. Vitter is still serving as a Senator after his hooker fiasco, i say he can stay.
i find their lack of getting anything done & inability to get along for the most part more offensive
than anything they do in their "sexploits".

My wife is very disappointed in him, she cited him as one of her favourite politicians. From the interviews I've seen of him, he's erudite, considered and (that rare gift these days in politics) a witty guy.

But he screwed up. Then he compounded it by bareface lies instead of doing the noble thing and falling on his sword openly.

If it had been a visit to a whore or a mistress, frankly I'd care less, but this sort of idiotic flirting and sending naughty pictures was a puerile way to go about things.

When Clinton was caught out for popping a girl in the office, I don't think anyone over in the UK really gave a gak, as far as we are concerned as a people, we expect good leadership and don't mind what goes on behind closed doors, part of having a ruling aristocracy for so long I suppose. We don't care who you are plugging as long as your good at your job. It made a nice change from our tory MPs getting caught with a bag over their heads and an orange up their arses in a rentboy's apartment.

The French expect men in certain positions to maintain a mistress.

Men in power are attractive to women, men in power are more likely to be away for extended periods from their significant others, men in power often buy into their own bs and think they are beyond 'getting caught'.

The disappointment and annoyance from Mrs S and I is just that we expected better from this bloke, he seemed far too smart to get caught and certainly not to get caught in such a stupid fashion... sending pictures of your penis on the internet in such an easily traceable way, just so very stupid.

When I send pictures of my penis, noone knows it's me... (check your inbo...doh! )

What else is there to say, other than he made some terrible decisions and is getting raked over the coals for it?

He sullied the nickname for peoples 'mule' as you call it and therefore should resign.

Yup. If every Democrat could articulate the basic concepts that well in the face of opposition, we'd probably have at least a public option now. And no one would be openly advocating scrapping Medicare, because they'd know to expect to get smashed in a debate over it.

The, possibly sad, truth of the matter is that good debate has as much to do with form as substance. If I can make my point in a witty fashion I may well win in the face of an opponent who is actually making a quantitatively (and yes, you can quantify good argument) superior argument.

Young Wiener has good form and substance, though I think he would fail as an American Conservative.

I think he's an idiot when it comes to personal business and I think he's an outspoken moron when it comes to politics but then again the only difference between him and some other politicians is that he yells louder.
