Warning: Satire Ahead
The Ward Angels (Successor of the Ultramarines, but they have their own Army Book)
The Ward Angels are the most awesome chapter ever; everyone wishes that THEY could be Ward Angels. They truly embody death from above, as they deep strike in their Wardraven Gunships, to unlease hordes of Wardstrike Missiles. They then deploy their Dreadnoughts of Warding, which have Armor 14/13/10 and Ward Shields that grant them a 4+ cover save at all times. If even the Dreadnoughts of Warding fail, they deploy their Land Raider Wardators (also via Deep Strike, and they have the drop pod rule that prevents them from dying from landing on enemies), which they can take as Troops and count as scoring. Land Raider Wardators are like other land raiders, but they can mix weapons from the different varients, are cheaper, are fast, and are immune to Melta and Lance.
The most notable hero of the Chapter is Damian Warder, who single-handedly won a Black Crusade, killing 10,000 Chaos titans armed only with a bolt pistol and a knife. After that, he stormed the Eye of Terror and rescued Draigo!!! He is 375 points, but has WS 8, BS 5, T 7, S 7, I 7, A 5, W 5 , Ld 10, Sv 2+/3++. Wargear is two Wardswords (grant a 3++ Save), twin-linked Assault Cannons, and Artificer Armor. His special rule "Plot Armor", lets every unit in his army reroll every failed roll for anything. He also has relentless, so he can fire his twin-linked assault cannons.
Also, they once teamed up with the Tyranids to defeat an Ork infestation, after which the Tyranids departed in peace. They also once killed a whole company of Grey Knights and anointed themselves in their blood, so that they were pure enough to survive reading the 4th Edition Chaos Space Marine Codex. They are truly the best, most amazing Space Marine chapter ever, at least until the next marine codex release.

Chapters have companies unless they don't follow the codex. At any rate i have a DIY chapter that is of Ultramarine descent... interestingly enough they do use war bands.

I actually had a post for my BA chapter before purple helped me out a lot on it. This was the basic results.
Chapter Name: Sanguine Watchers
Bio: The Chapter is a BA successor chapter that after years of service became disgusted with the Imperium. Their chapter master has begun slowly turning the chapter into a part of the Illuminati Cult. This is a closely guarded secret even within the chapter, only it's first company and leaders have any knowledge of what has to be done to join first company. To all others the first company is just the best of the best. They still are part of the Imperium, but have a secret agenda similar to the Illuminati which includes gaurding the sensai and the revival of the Emperor.
Homeworld: Janus Primaris is a desert death world whose high level of oxygen causes the desert bugs to grow enormous size. This combined with the explosive geysers covering the planet caused the chapter to build it's base underground while choosing it's initiates from the nomadic tribes of the wasteland above.
Chapter Master: Praetorian Vex was a unanimous choice to become the first Chapter master of the Watchers. After years of service he began to see faults in the Imperium he worked for. Realizing how far they had strayed he began to assimilate his chapter into an Illuminati Cult. He gathered all of the heads of the chapter and convinced them in his plan. After being illuminated Vex's geneseed woke up he grew wings and developed the foresight that Sanguinus once had. Of course because of this he does not appear in public acting only as a guide. It was also found that illumination had cured the red thirst in him and all the illuminated.
High Chaplain: Aer Caliga Is charged with not only dealing with the chapters defects, but secretly those who fail the illumination process. He almost failed his illumination however being the last one to rise from his stasis. He managed to expel the demon however before Vex executed him as a result to the strain his skin turned black as coal. He believed that his trouble in the ceremony was due to his straying from the designated path of the emperor and became more diligent in his teaching.
These are what I have so far It's still a work in progress
