Alright. Trying like hell to sell/trade my Tyranids (1 painted battleforce. Interested? PM me).

Only issue: most people are scared away by the "Painted" status. I would strip it, but I also quickshaded the darn things.

Anybody have any luck with stripping quickshader? It's a bit tougher than paint (a bit? I mean a lot tougher). What can I use to strip Quickshade so that I can make my Tyranid models more desirable for sell/trade?

Thanks in advance.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

Hello,
If it is plastic, (it probably is) try Simple Green or Purple Power (50/50 water), metal, you can go as far as brake fluid. I buy/trade for 95 % of my models and this has worked, however it will take time to soak, look at 3-5 days and it should come off. You might want to skim the top to clear the oil, then just use a nail scrub brush for the big stuff and a tooth brush for the small spindly bits.

Regards,
Carl

No, spraying three colors on your minis does not count as painted! 5k+

Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure if the normal paint stripping methods were gonna be able to crack the quickshade coating, so the stripping begins today.

Over the hills and far away.

I cant vouch for any methods for plastic stripping. But i swear by paint thinners for metal models. Soak em for 5 minutes tops and anything just scrubs straight off with no ill effects to the mini.

You might need to take a light sand paper to it to make some surface for the stripper to take hold on to break up the glossy coating quickshading provides

I can confirm with personal experience that Simple Green will strip Quickshade without any issue.
