I had this come up in a game last night and wanted to see what you all thought. DE against GK. The GK have 2 Chimeras and a unit of henchmen all close to each other. The DE have a unit of Wyches and a Chronos charging in. The Wyches do a multiple charge to both Chimeras and the Chronos does a multiple charge to one of the Chimeras and the henchmen. A few questions regarding this situation:

1) Can the Chronos (being a single model) declare a multiple charge if it can get its base to touch both units? In this case the henchmen are close enough to the Chimera to be in base contact with both.

2) Is this considered all one combat? Technically there is one Chimera that has both the Wyches and Chronos attacking it and all are connected.

3) So if this is one combat, that would mean all wounds/glancing hits/penetrating hits count toward the combat score. Henchmen easily lose this combat and run. Even though the Wyches are only in combat with tanks, do they get the chance to catch the henchmen? Normally they would just be considered out of combat once the Assault phase is finished.

4) Let's assume that the henchmen don't run. Do the Wyches consolidate into the henchmen as well?

We ruled this last night with all answers above being yes, but it just seems odd. Thoughts?

1) No. Explicitly denied in the rules for units charging - the closest model in the assaulting unit MUST charge ONLY the unit you declare against. Only following models may c ontact other units. So, thats disallowed to start with

2) If this was legal, then it would be one combat

3) You only count glancing / pen hits against walkers. If the henchmen break from combat, any unit able to sweeping advance can do so

4) If you are still in combat, you dont consolidate. Instead BOTH sides Pile In! as normal, up to 6"

Thanks for the quick response. I did mean piling in and not consolidating for that last question, but thanks for correcting me.
