I was thinking about including a sternguard squad in my BA army, with a drop pod as transport.
I was wondering if I should paint it as a sternguard squad, or something like inquisitorial marines or deathwatch marines. Of course I'm open to many ideas.

I don't see Death Watch hanging out with BA, and asides from them and Grey Knights, I do not think there are any other Inquisitorial Marines.

It would help if you give a bit of information on your motives... are you just bored of painting red? What other spot-colours are prominent in your force? Do you have a specific campaign/scenario in mind? Do you wanna multi-use those sternguards for other armies too?

Well, in a strict sense, they aren't BA and they only have red trim.
I mainly wanted them for some more 'speacialised' shooting role.
Multi use would be nice too.
In the fluff my chapter is very under strength (by about 500-600 marines)
By inquisitorial marines I mean like marines from other chapter assigned temporarily to mine by the inquisition because of some dire need (in mines case, being way under strength)

DeathWatch Sternguard. They're fun to paint, and they love killing Xenos x2.

So so far it is either deathwatch or plain

Due to GW'a recent price increase I'm going to just get a combat squad (the one with 5 marines) and put scopes on their guns and things like that and count them as Sternguard. I'm going to make them plain, however, with the colors of my chapter.
