Being rather inspired by GMMStudios tanker truck pictures:

I figured it might be quite fun to make one myself. So today I picked up a few materials and figured I'd do a little blog to keep track of it. First up I needed some PVC pipe, so I grabbed a 35cm section from ebay and that showed up this morning.
I then submerged in some near boiling water and put some pressure on it for 30 mins, then jammed it in the freezer to help create that slightly oval tanker shape. It's not quite there yet so might need to give it one more go, but here's how it came out:
So I cut a section down to the sort of size I was wanting, around 9inches or so.
Alright so I'm not that great at sawing accurately yet:
I also went and picked up a load of bits from the local rail hobby store. They've some giant bits boxed so I was able to find quite a few cool pieces.
Here's a sketch of what I'm going to be aiming for.
I'm still undecided if the back propulsion will be tracks or wheels; probably the latter, but we'll see. I'll try and update this as I go, but I can get quite slow so apologies if they are not too frequent.
Would welcome any ideas or suggestions
