Quick question, Which Process is correct? (or are they both wrong)

Process A

1) A drop pods lands with 12" of Coteaz.
2) The unit Makes their disembark move
3) Coteaz Shoots the drop pod
4) Coteaz shoots the unit getting out if they are within 12"

(can 3 and 4 be swapped?)

Process B

1) Drop pods lands with 12" of Coteaz
2) Coteaz Shoots the drop pod, and damage is resolved. Unit is in the pod. Drop pod is not open topped.
3) The unit in the pod disembarks.
4) Coteaz Shoots the unit after they disembark if they are with 12"

Personally I think that Process B is the Correct one, but I am not sure.

Also, would this work the same way if it was a transport Arriving from reserves, with the troops disembarking?

okay, checked the FAQ, and I am still not sure.

It does allow you to shoot at the Drop pod (or Spore) and the unit getting out of it.

What it not clear is the exact order.

Do you shoot at the Drop Pod before the unit disembarks or after? (I think before but I am not certain)

The FAQ only mentions Drop pods and Spores, do units in other transports count as arriving from reserves?

Only if they deepstrike in, so stormravens.

After they disembark, as you have no permission to stop the drop pods kicking them out rule.

So a unit in a transport only counts are arriving from reserves if the transport arrived by Deep Strike? That sounds weird, but it also seems right. Just one of those oddities I guess.

What about a unit in storm raven?
Do you get to shoot the Storm Raven while it is still occupied, or do you wait for the unit to get out?

If you do wait for the unit to get out, are you required to shoot at the storm raven first, or can you elect to shoot at the Unit first instead?

I would not say that it is stopping so much as it is interrupting.

A different example:

A drop pod enters play in a position that causes a mishap. (Think Warp Quake)
The drop pod is placed on the table, but before the unit inside gets out, the Pod Mishaps. This interrupts the normal procedure.
The unit is still embarked in the pod. If the Pod is placed in reserves then the unit is still in it. If the pod is relocated, then the unit disembarks at the new location.

Would Coteaz's shooting ability interrupt this normal sequence the way a mishap would?

This does not interrupt the normal procedure, as Deepstrike Mishaps are PART of the deepstrike rule - the pod has not arrived until you check to see if it has mishapped.

So they are very very very different.

Nothing in the rule or FAQ sets an order you must shoot in. So you could shoot the pod or the occupents first.

That makes sense.

What about a Normal Deep striking transport, like a storm raven.

In this case, the Storm raven is one unit and it completes its move (the deep strike)

Then the unit inside makes its move, (disembarking) and only after they disembark they count as deep striking.

In this case you would shoot the transport while occupied correct?

Correct, as deep striking and disembarking from regular transports are not one process, but two. One happens at the beginning of movement, and the other during movement.
