As some of you know I make themed lists, and well when I saw the Angry Marines I had to make them. So here is the list I will be running. Let me know if it could be more competitive as a themed list.

HQ-

-Maximus Iratus [Sanguinor]

ELITES-

-Angrinators [Terminator Assault Squad]--x4 TH/SS
---Sgt- TH/SS

-Angrinators [Terminator Assault Squad]--x4 TH/SS
---Sgt- TH/SS

-Dirk the Jerk [Furioso Dreadnought]- magna grapple- blood talons- heavy flamer

TROOPS-

-Angry Squad [Assault Marines]x4- 1 meltagun
--Sgt-x2 lightning claws
---Ragehater Iratus [Landraider Redeemer]- extra armor

-Angry Squad [Assault Marines]x4- 1 meltagun
--Sgt-x2 lightning claws
---Ragehater Iratus [Landraider Redeemer]- extra armor

HEAVY SUPPORT-

-Storm ragin' [Stormraven]- TL LC/ TL MM

-Storm ragin' [Stormraven]- TL LC/ TL MM
Total= 1995

So the two 5 man assault squads deep strike in with their landraiders, using the decent of angels landing really close to enemy lines. Sanguinor also drops in near them. The termies go into the stormravens and zoom across the table into position. Also carrying the furioso too. I will be using the Forgeworld Aquilas as my Stormravens with conversion crazy-ness across this army! Anything I could do with this list competitve wise and stay within the theme?

Why not use the Angry Marines codex?

Descent of Angels does not allow Landraiders to deepstrike using that rule. Only units equpped with jetpacks. LR still scatters full 12"

I wanted to shoot a lot of plasma weapons, then I realised I like blood better so I have a lot of Power Weapons.

Having briefly perused the Angry Marines codex, I'm going to assume the theme is all out close combat. If that's the case, I think the Stormravens are a good fit, while the Land Raiders are not. Deep striking with a Land Raider is hella stupid, for two reasons. First, as has been pointed out, the LR scatters 2D6, and furthermore, has a huge footprint. You are going to mishap a lot. Second, even when you don't mishap, you're going to drop your expensive toy right into Melta range. In addition, the cargo you have in the Land Raiders isn't really threatening, and will be easy to kill once the LRs are inevitably destroyed. You'll threaten armies that can't deal with AV14, and get wrecked by anyone that can (which is pretty much everyone that's trying to compete at all).

So, I suggest expanding on the Stormraven theme. I'm going to suggest a list, and explain why I think it both works well and fits your theme.

HQ: Librarian with Jump Pack, Unleash Rage and Shield of Sanguinius 125
EL: 10 TH/SS Terminators 450
EL: 2 Sanguinary Priests with Jump Packs 150
EL: Furioso Dreadnought with Blood Talons 125
TR: 10 Assault Marines with 2 Meltaguns and Power Fist 235
TR: 10 Assault Marines with 2 Meltaguns and Power Fist 235
TR: 5 Death Company Marines with 1 Power Fist 125
TR: Death Company Dreadnought with Blood Talons 125
HS: Stormraven with Extra Armor 215
HS: Stormraven with Extra Armor 215

Total: 2000

I'm taking a second Dreadnought, since you really want to use the expensive transport capacity you're paying for. I'm assuming you really want 10 Terminators in the list. You should consider running them with LCs, to take advantage of Furious Charge. In fact, you might want to put TDA on one of the Priests and put him in a Stormraven. The Librarian is there because I need a cheap HQ, plus he can take the Unleash Rage power, which seems apt. He'll go with the Assault Marines to help them stay alive via the Shield Power.

I think this list fits your theme, as everything is either a close combat threat or enhances a close combat threat in some way. I'm a little surprised you weren't taking a DC in your original list, since they seem to fit the theme so well. If you want to play at 2500, I'd add the Sanguinor and a third 2 Flamer Assault Squad.

Current Record: 5 Wins, 6 Draws, 3 Losses 2000 points

In Progress: 500 points

You've got to try and get someone in there with dual Power Weapons/Fists, though, just for the ANGRY! That is, if it's possible with a Marine Codex.
