The Mindphase Gauntlet seems like a brilliant piece of wargear to me.

Too bad no one with a high initiative can take it! To me it seems that the wielder needs to be at a minimum of I6 to have any effect, since most characters are at I5ish, but the best we've got is the haemonculus ancient at I5, which costs way too much to just suppress characters/MCs of I4 or less. Better to take a flesh gauntlet or huskblade and just kill them IMO.

Just wondering if anyone has had any battles where the mindphase gauntlet actually did something instead of just striking simultaneously with most characters/MCs and having no effect.

Ork and Necron characters top out at I 4, i think , barring C'tan.

This probably belongs more in tactics, but it's worth noting that FC puts your models up a step on Initiative, helping you out on combat resolution the turn you charge. Now, your Ancient is going at I6.

It also can affect characters like Logan (if he goes at I1), Draigo, Marneus, and Dorn, and does some good work against Tyranid MCs (although DE don't need much help against them). I've used it before for my Grotesques, and it works well against Librarians (when charging with FC) to protect against the Force Weapon.

I have used Urien in a list, and his biggest weakness is S10 or other ID weapons. However, most of these will be going at I4 or lower, giving you a good chance of avoiding them.
