Late Edition

Bozerite Mines Ltd (BML) stock plummeted Thursday as the situation in the Delgando desert grew murky. The regional Imperial Governing Council has been tight-lipped about their apparent loss of control of the mines to The Purple Reign of Von Bryan. As reported here, several attempts by the Council to re-occupy the mine complex were unsuccessful. As a result, the Purple Reign has raised prices on bozerite crystal products. The Imperium has no choice but to pay the higher prices as recent Chaos incursions in the Phly Gamma sector has increased demand for void armor, a key component of which is bozerite.

A delegation of Blood Angels under their arch librarian Mephisto met with the Council and agreed to accompany Commissar Jo-el's Guard troopers to the mines, reassert Imperial control, and effectively Imperial-ize the company until the crisis is over in Phly Gamma. BML stock had risen in frenzied trading following the Purple Reign price hikes, but plummeted in late trading when word leaked out of the Blood Angel's possible intervention.

Late reports indicate the Blood Angels and IG did indeed set out for the mines through the Wormrot plain south of Schombobo. Their initial advance was slowed by a severe dust storm. As it cleared, they found themselve in the midst of a hostile Grey Knight - Eldar encampment.

As seen from escorting cam pods, the IG bump into Eldar troops under Farseer Rlyehable

The Grey Knight - Eldar command council break their parlay to engage the intruders

To the southwest, a Blood Angel Rhino with IG Squad Intrepid approach a Grey Knight Rhino.

A well placed shot destroys the Grey Knight Rhino. Mephisto steps forward. This could be bad news for the shaken Grey Knight warriors. Mephisto destroys the squad single-handed.

Meanwhile, Blood Angel Assault Troopers to their right destroy another Grey Knight Rhino with a devastating Melta gun shot.

The Angels move in for the kill

To the east, Rlyehable's Fire Warriors disembark and prime their guns.

Colonel Skof's Knights find one of Commissar Jo-el's officers out in front of his lines. Stormbolter fire dispatches him to the infirmary.

On the southeast, the Grey Knight Raider pivots and blasts the Blood Angel Rhino that had so rudely thumped it's rear quarter. Blood Angels pour from the wreckage blinded by rage, and move to destroy the Land Raider. An Eldar Wave Serpent moves up in support.

An Imperial Sentinel downs the Wave Serpent, revealing it's deadly cargo.

Colonel Skof's Champion steps out of the Land Raider to quell the disturbance.

To the east, the Fire Warrior's Wave Serpent gets re-designed by accurate fire from a Blood Angel Predator.

Commissar Jo-el's Red Fox awaits, his trusty Tech-marine stands ready, adorned in his freshly won Red Cape of Courage for his actions at the Schombobo settlement.

By now, the Blood Angel have the fire up and descend on the Dire Avengers from all sides.

With the opposition fading, the Blood Angels and IG rally.

Mephisto advances with Squad Intrepid.

To cement their victory, the Blood Angels critically damage Colonel Skof's Land Raider, but not without a final message of defiance from The Enraged One.

In case you are wondering about the deployment, it comes from the Battle Missions expansion book. I believe it was a Tyranid scenario where the table is divided into sixths and for deployment you roll a D6 and the result is the segment you deploy in. Came out pretty evenly - no one army really strong in one place... if you don't count Mephisto...
