Subject: Question on one of the Horus Heresy Novels

I have tried to search through here and still have not found an answer. (this is going to be broad but hopefully you understand) In the Galaxy in Flames novel, there was this one instance where a space marine from the traitor legions is actually a good guy (can't remember the chapter), and ends up meeting a guard leader and a person being protected becuase she is thought to be a saint. Now after they escape there is really no more mention of them... I really wish I had their names but I don't I was wondering as to whether they are anywhere mentioned later in the warhammer 40k universe

I think you mean Iacton Qruze, formerly of the Sons of Horus, formerly the Luna Wolves.
I believe with him was the Iterator Kyrill Syndermann, The Imagist Mersadie Oliton and a remembracer, who name escapes me at the moment. I think she was the Saint ...
Not bad from memory

Iacton Qruze was the loyalist Sons of Horus Marine, captain of the 2nd Company. I don't know about Gaurd Leader, you may be thinking of Kyril Sindermann, the head Iterator for the fleet. Euphrati Keeler is the "saint", and has a companion called Mersadie Oliton, both former remembrancers. They are mentioned in a few short stories, and have a major role in the fourth HH book, The Flight of The Eisenstein.

Ya, read The Flight of the Eisenstein for more info on these characters.

I did read it, but it kinda left them with a cliffhanger... I was just wondering if they had more significance in the 40 universe. I know from the grey knights codex it mentions that one of the people brought back to the emperor to make the grey-knights/inquisition was a space marine from a traitor legion who was still loyal to the emperor.... so I was wondering whether it could be him

There were eight. It's pretty much confirmed that Iacton and Garro, along with a few others mentioned are the founders of The Grey Knights and The Inquisition.

This is what they end up doing.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it. |

Their "final" fate is revealed in Flight of the Eisenstein.

Hasn't really ended yet, they would all have to appear again before the end of the series.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |
