Alright, Not really sure what I'm doing with this list but I'm very open to advice for it.


HQ
CCS, Power Weapon, Vox, 4 meltaguns – 110
Dedicated Chimera Transport – 55

Primaris Psyker - 70

ELITES
Storm Trooper Squad, Power Weapon, 2 meltaguns - 115

TROOPS
Veteran Squad (Grenadiers), Power Weapon, 3 plasmaguns – 155
Dedicated Chimera Transport - 55

Veteran Squad (Grenadiers), Power Weapon, 3 plasmaguns – 155
Dedicated Chimera Transport - 55

FAST ATTACK
Hellhound Squadron, 2 Hellhounds, Heavy Flamers, Extra armour – 275

HEAVY SUPPORT
Leman Russ Battle tank, heavy bolter sponsons, Extra armour, dozer blade - 195

Medusa, Bastion Breacher Shells, Extra Armour - 150


It's 1390 points currently so I have 110 to fill up. Aiming for more of a fun list rather than competitive but again, comments on it would be nice.

Valkyrie with HB sponsons is 110 points and can shuttle the storm troopers around.

CCS doesn't need a vox as orders can't be issued from within a vehicle. Psyker = pointless in this list

Stormtroopers should drop the power weapon as they are anti-tank only

Veteran squads are good, although drop the carapace armor for points and because they will be in the tanks anyways.

Hellhounds are meh. I would drop at least one for more vets at this points level. In fact drop both for more vets and a vendetta.

Leman Russ seems rather bloated. Drop the sponsons so it can move and fire its turret weapon. It also doesn't need any other upgrades. I've never had luck with medusas but YMMV so thats your call

Chimera is a mobile command vehicle. Orders issued from its hull.

1 drop all the power weapons, waste of points as in most things that assult you will spank your guard ass unless your a blob squad. 2nd extra armor on the Medusa is pointless as it's not going to be moving . Would drop gernadiers and bamb look at all the points you have! Melta vets go! Stormies thro them airborn deep strike behind armor hope they land somewhere useful, i'd rather have melta vets for the same price 1 more melta and twice the guys.

Moreover, nobody else has a vox, so the command squad vox doesn't do anything. Plus the squad as written is illegal. Vox operators can't be upgraded with special weapons so four meltas and a vox is not a legal command squad loadout.

Extra armor is not terribly useful and putting it on everything but your transports is especially strange.

I'm not sure if the dozer blade is going to be worth its points... While you're thinning things down, I'd recommend losing the blade unless other players have found it useful/you play on boards with lots of difficult terrain.

2 troops is never enough, I would even suggest 4 rather than 3. Trim all the extra off, such as the extra armour, dozer blades, drop the doctrines and put 4 vet squads in chimeras - possibly 3 melta squads and 1 plasma I would recommend. Then, if you have any points left you can add some goodies back in ...

The list is not bad. Personally, I am not a fan of hellhounds or medusas. At 1000 points I'd drop all of these. Add in another vet squad in a chimera, and give your stomries a chimera, then add another stormie squad in a chimera. Give everyone meltas. Top this all off with 3 hydras and you have a VERY potent 1000 point mech list with 8 av12 tanks, 14 melta guns, 3 hydra ac's. Something like this:

at 1000 point level, i'd try to take at least 1 russ. av 14 can be a pain in the lower pt. games.

You are putting a deepstriking/ infiltrating unit in a chimera. Stormtroopers should either infiltrate or use their reroll deepstrike. You can spend 110 points on much better things. Like more Hydras.

Lucien-Alexis, that modified 1000 point list looks really nice. No complaints here. You could switch the medusas to some form of russ, but thats to your preference.

Or you could drop 1 hydra and add a plasma vet sqd. with the 110 you'd save from DSing the Stormies as suggested....

Its all down to preference, but yah. 110 points is nothing to sneeze at in a guard army.

You can still deepstrike the stormies while deploying their chimera empty. For 55 points, chimeras are one of the best buys in the codex, av12 ml/hf. Note that infiltrate also allows you to outflank giving you an extra option.
