Anyone have any suggestions on good paint for minis besides GW?

Vallejo has 3 applicable lines of paint. Model Color, Game Color and Model Air. All of them are great for different purposes. Game color is almost equivalent to GWs colors, but with more colors. Model color is a bit more muted. Model Air is meant for airbrushes, but goes on great with a brush too and the metallics are great!

I'd pick up a few bottles of each and see which you like. They all have their pros and cons.

I like Vallejo - more bang for your buck than GW, dropper bottles > pots, ridiculously expansive range (when you consider the three lines).

Haven't tried Reaper or P3, but they seem a bit more finicky than Vallejo - people seem to either love them or hate them.

Vallejo gets my vote! Like others have said you get more for your money and the dropper bottles are a god send. I used to use GW paints and nothing butt GW paints until I couldn't get hold of some of the older colours. Tried a couple of Vallejo colours and never looked back. One thing I'd say about the darker reds and blues of Vallejo's model colour range is that they're a bit glossy straight out of the bottle, but nothing a bit of thinning and mixing can't sort out

Personally I'd stick with good ol' GW paint. I've had no problems with it.

vallejo paints. Ive seen people use testors modeling paint, but in my experience enamels (especailly testors) tend to cover up detail because of their thickness.

Humbrol (may just be in the UK I'm not sure) make a good range of acrylics loads of shades and gloss, Matt and satin options of most colours. If your like me (weird) and lick your paint covered brush to keep the tip pointy then I know GW or Humbrol won't kill you (in the short term I'll let you know if that changes suddenly) but GW taste better ha ha.
Don't know about any other companies paints but I'm considering reaper ones if someone can tell me how toxic they are to injest? Lol.
