When the Callidus Assassin arrives from reserve choose an enemy unit. This unit suffers 1D6 Str4 AP2 wounds. The assassin is then placed within 3" of that unit using DS rules but does not scatter.

What happens if the D6 wounds wipes the unit? There is no longer a unit for the assassin to DS within 3" of?

The newly released FAQ covers this. You place the assassin within 3" of where the unit used to be.

Yah know...I knew I shoulda checked that first I apologize.

As another question though. Besides Inv saves can cover saves be made? Doesn't say it's a shooting attack or what kind of wounds they are.

The fact that it has an AP implies it is a shooting attack of a sort (or at least an attack that follows some shooting rules), as those are the only type of attacks that use AP.

For reference, the Mawloc's "Terror From the Deep" special ability allows cover saves to be taken.

Not true, explosions from vehicles blowing up have an AP, and you cant take cover saves against those. (if you are the disembarking unit I mean)

Problem is, it's not labeled as a shooting attack at all so we can't assume it is.

That's not a problem - if an attack doesn't deny you saves you can generally use them. The close combat rules specifically mention you can't use cover saves.

And what, pray tell, is the AP of an exploded vehicle? And where can I find the refernce on it? Since I don't think there is an AP on the explosion from an exploded vehicle................................

Explodes result on page 61 of the rulebook and Effects on Passengers on pg 67 both give an AP value for the explosion.
