Could i buy Helbrecht and a command squad and add Grimaldus and the emperors champion to the squad during deployment?

No that combination is illegal - and you wouldn't want to!

You can buy a Command Squad for Hebrecht or Grimaldus, and then have the other character join. If you wanted, each character could have their own command squad each.

Helbrecht makes you purchase furious charge, but if your squad includes cenobyte servitors (which Grimaldus has), you are forbidden from taking veteran skills - which is not good!

The Emperor's Champion is forbidden from Leading, or even joining a command squad .

Yeah, IIRC the Emperor's Champion is fine to join other squads, but is forbidden from joining Command Squads.

Yeah you got it insaniak. He's more effective in a standard squad anyway - it just increases their killyness

When it comes to unmatched zeal does any squad with a unit within 6 inches of grimaldus get this special rule or does it go from model to model.

Any UNIT within 6" of GRIMALDUS himself for your second question.

As for your first, Helbrecht's squad MUST take Furious charge. But you can't take Vet skills with servitors (including Grimaldus'), so perhaps it is just impossible to have the latter as an attached character? I've always played it that way.

Yeah, the BT codex has some serious editing issues. There are some wargear items that nothing in the codex can take. Seriously. BT wargear items that NO ONE CAN EVER USE IN ANY BT LIST EVER.

Examples: Wargear section - The sacred standard, chapter banner, and holy relic items are some of the items that can be taken by terminators (as denoted by a "t" next to the item).

Except that there isn't a single terminator model in the entire codex that can take banners of ANY kind, or the relic. Not one.

Cant you upgrade some models to terminators? That may get around tha tissue.

Nope, the only one allowed to take a standard or a holy relic is the standard bearer (Reclusiam standard bearer in the case of the relic). They're not allowed to take Terminator Armour.

'No Terminator can take them' is quite a long way from 'Nobody in the BT army can take them'...

The standard bearer cannot select Terminator Armour from the armory - he doesn't have 2 or more wounds. You'll notice the cost for items has two numbers - the first represents multi-wound models, and the second represents single wound models. Single wound models are not allowed to take Terminator Armour.

It's true that non-terminator models can select these items, but then why say these items are available to terminators too? There's no terminator (upgraded individual or not) that can select these items.

It's just a rather dumb oversight.

Huh... Hadn't noticed that. They could take TDA in the regular Space Marine codex.

It's possible that the T is a remnant of an earlier edit... either removing the ability to take TDA for single wound models was a last minute change, or they were originally going to allow specialists in a Terminator Command Squad.


Either way, they're still not examples of items that nobody in the army can take, which was your original (rather loud) claim...
