Here's my funky new 28mm-30mm paper model. The Inventor's House should work great in any fantasy or steampunk setting. It includes multiple texture layers, so you can easily change the look of your model before you print it.

28mm/30mm paper models are cheap, easy and fun!

Another lovely looking building!

Perhaps a little too formal and unwacky for an inventor? I was imagining an oversized metal chimney, pipework etc.

I'd love to see something with a little of the Altdorf magic college in it.

Perhaps called the alchemist's manse or something?

Didn't want to go too far in that direction and scare off folks who want a little lower-tech sort of fantasy. If you really want to go for that sort of thing, I recommend adding the free Observatory model to the platform. And if you want something more ordinary-looking, you can print this model without the rooftop addition and platform.

But I'm gradually moving toward steampunk stuff, so I suspect you'll be seeing some pipes and similar things showing up in my designs before too long. Baby steps.

Love the snapshot. Just wandering around Altdorf is one of the best parts of WAR, in my opinion. Watch out for those rat-things near the docks.

Hah, it was my first time in Altdorf, chatting to some nice working ladies in the slums when I ran into some daemonettes that really stung, those things chase you for miles!

I still hope you took a look at the longhouses and totems and menhirs of the chaos faction? If your in the starter zones, the pvp area of the empire vs chaos one, it's further up that beach (go down the chaos ramp onto the beach and just go right instead of into the fighting area).

Did I mention I'm building a chaos army...?

Don't have the game installed any more, but if you can post some screenshots I might get inspired. You know I can't design anything specifically for that intellectual property to which you're referring, but I can probably design something generic that will work for that faction as well as aspects of other games and settings.

Here's another look at the Inventor's House, using a more subdued configuration and textures. Assembled and photographed by Jerry Jensen.

Wow, it looks nice both ways- I like the crazy one as opposed to the subdued one, though

Even more over the top stuff with pipes / steampunk like would be really great!
