Well the article reads like a rant anyway ...

For constructive criticism,

Ethereal's are sketchy, but attach him to a broadside squad with shield drones helps a lot since you can get 4 shield drones total. A rerolled Ld 8 is better than ld 10 when you want it passed, and worse than Ld 6 when you want it to fail, which is actually decent if and when foot lists ever make a comeback.

Gun drones are BS 2 twin linked, which is actually more accurate than bs 3 and they have 18" range, not 12". They can threaten infantry, vehicle rear armor, and are a solid choice in low point games or body count lists.

Firewarriors are okay, you just have to realize they are carapace guardsmen with a good gun. Markerlights let you bypass the bad BS and let the best standard infantry rifle in the game shine. A point reduction or drone-based heavy weapon ugprades (rail rifle or fusion blaster drones anyone?) would go a long way to making them better in a new codex, or a carbine/pinning special rule since they are the only squad of 100% pinners that can pump out a dozen shots that I'm aware of. Kroot do outshoot them, but Kroot are less durable than firewarriors in every area but forests.

Vespids have an Ld of 9 since the squad leader is mandatory, and they can benefit from markerlights. Granted, they still are an iffy choice but killing on a 2+/3+ with 11 guys is decent. Its not so much that the model is bad, but they were expensive for 4th edition and even more expensive for 5th w/ all the cover saves! A full squad is the same as three fireknifes which shoots exactly the same without lights, they just need a hefty point decrease to be made viable.

Your article reads like a rant and most of the content is misrepresented or false so I think the criticism is warranted. And this isn't an 'army review' - where is the section on crsisi suits, kroot, hammerheads? This is a 'crap unit review' - and most people know they are suboptimal units without needing to be told.
