Hi guys, i need some help with my 1850pts list. I usually play 2k, and whenever I do lower point list I tend to get really crappy units, most of the time is ok because I’m not playing to win, just to throw some dice, but last time I played I just got raped by an ork army, so I decided I should do some competitive lists for lower points so this is the first of two threads I’ll make about 1850 and 1500 pts.

Tomorrow I’m playing against a Dark Eldar 1850 army, don’t know whats on it and don’t really care, just want a average can stand against anything list so this is what I plan on fielding tomorrow, it is pretty much my 2k pts with less models on each unit and a few upgrades left behind.

Daemon Prince – Wings, MoN, Warptime.

3 Termies – 2 combi-weapons, 1 RA and 1 PF (RA and PF are the same model)

Troops
10 CSM – Champ w/PF, IoCG, 2x flamers in a rhino w/combi-weapon
7 Plagues – Champ w/PF and combi-weapon and mark, 2x plasmas in a rhino w/combi-weapon
8 Zerks – Champ w/PW
5 Lesser D.

1 LR w/combi-weapon

Total - 1849

I usually use all the combi-weapons as combi-melta dunno if they are worth it vs Dark Eldar thou. Anyway what do you guys think? What should I drop and what should I get to make it better?

The landraider is probably less then optimal against Dark Eldar. I think trading out the zerks, Abaddon and the Land Raider for another DP, 2 more groups of 2x Obliterators and another squad of plague marines with Plasma Guns. Not sure the models you are working with, but those would be my suggestions. It really depends on what kind of list he brings.

I like this... I am actually building Black legion atm (about 2000 points to paint up)

There is a little bit of everything in there which could be quite hard for an opponent to deal with. It actually looks pretty fun to play.

The only thing I would change is I would drop the Terminators and take more Obliterators

or I would Drop the Obliterators and take more Termies... and it would be good also to add a Icon of Tzeentch to them a 4+ save on Termies is pretty awesome and underated IMO

Generally agreeing with this. The dark lances/blasters and haywire grenades you are likely to face wont really struggle to mess with a LR at all, which makes it a pretty big points sink. Your opponent will make your LR look like a slightly more durable rhino. Abaddon is also a huge points sink. He's fun to play and very powerful but costs so much! With the LR and Abaddon gone you could invest in more ranged heavy support to try and destroy their raiders/venoms as soon as possible. Oblits do the job and work great against pretty much every army. If you wanted you could use havocs squads with 4 autocannons also. Cheaper than 3 oblits, and while not as good at destroying vehicles as the lascannons/multi-meltas/twin-linked meltas of oblits, you'll be putting out more shots that are capable of destroying their vehicles and paying less for each shot. Ofcourse without the LR and Abaddon you may want to reconsider the termies.
