I was also wondering some good 28 miniatures with that scifi look to them other then warhammer 40,000 These models dont have to be aliens
If youve never see the movies heres some pictures.

Here's a bunch of leads for Alien aliens.

I'm not aware of anything very much like the LA aliens. Nearly all alien models have weapons.
There are heaps of non- GW 28mm SF figures on the market. We've got a couple of threads going on alternatives to GW, so check them out.

Those are quite expensive now that they have been OOP for a while. The Alien warriors box set goes for around $50 (US) on ebay, and theres only 6 aliens in the box.

You have to try and pick them up secondhand off eBay, car boot sales and so on.

Also OOP, but the Kryomek game had some very ALIEN looking creatures, they were pretty cool looking but they were not strictly humanoid.

Kryomek is still in production. You can get them directly from Scotia Grendel:

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

Ok, prices on ebay for the Aliens horrorclix sets have gone up...2 of them listed, one is $75 the other is $125.
Man I wish I had bought a set when they were cheap and easy to get. I have the Predators set and the Alien Queen, but not the warriors.

There you go. That's why keen hobbyists tend to end up with attics full of unused models. On the plus side, if someone did buy a lot of the Horrorclix when they were cheap, and never used them, now is a good time to release them on eBay.

Which amazes me because even 2 years ago the predator sets routinely went for the old retail price ($25-30 IIRC) while the aliens went for less than half that. I bought a bunch of sets at Gencon a few years ago @ 3 for the price of 1 on the last day (no one except me wanted them for the first 4 days of the convention apparently).
I even rebased them to 40k legal versions as I didn't think they had any resale value when the nid codex came out! I bought them initially to run an AVP type game at conventions where players were the predators in the first AVP movie but never ended up opening the boxes until I came to my senses about starting a nid army.

Doesn't Chapterhouse Studios make an Alien head conversion set? Swap them out on your Tyranids and it looks pretty good
