Hmm idk, it just doesnt seem like 40k with that organization

Now its Warhammer Fantasy, In Space

And as the article said, this greatly requires troops to be worthwhile. 50% is a huge chunk just to have composed of troops and not everyone likes to use great amounts of troops. For imperial guard for example, this would REQUIRE at least one infantry platoon for a 2000 point game.

Correct. It's different from 5th edition.

Yes, it's a lot of Troops if you're constructing IG / GK / SM armies with 500-700 points of Troops including transports in 2000 point lists. The idea is to have balance at all point levels. 1300 points of vehicles or Terminators is not going to scale well especially if GW gets wonky and ups the standard game of 40K to 2500 points. Some things need to be modified to have the game playable at all levels, and this is from a guy who loves tanks.

Premeasuring would take a tension out of the game that i like.

Like when im trying to move my guardians out of charge range of some terminators because they are my last troops. And then there is a whole tense turn until the assault phase when the terminators are 6.5 inches and its a giant relief.

Premeasuring takes out the emotion and makes it all procedural. This was addressed with random charges in fantasy, but i dont want premeasuring in 40k.

I wouldnt mind the percentage based force org but i doubt that will happen because 40k is the game aimmed at kids and its mare difficult to calculate percentages for little jimmy 10 year old than for him to just choose his favorite HQ.

There's also armies with terrible, terrible troop choices.

Tau would be completely unplayable like this, as you'd be forced into playing a static gunline, while other armies get plenty of their awesome assault troops.

This sounds like the wishlist of some butthurt guy who's just plain bad at the game. It might not be, but that's what it sounds like.

Dirty Harry wrote:I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

So, why dont you play fantasy?

It OBLITERATES some armies. Sure, people play Mech IG. Mech IG is not invincible.
