can i please have some help with my 2000pt custom chapter list from my larger list of 3000pts+ it is as follows:

HQ cato sicarius/achilles- 200pts

troops scouts- 4 sniper rifles camo cloaks and missile launcher -100pts
tac squad- storm bolter & power fist-125pts
tac squad- lascannon plasma gun power fist and plasma pistol -230pts
tac squad- flamer missile launcher power fist and plasma pistol -210pts
elites ironclad dread 2 hunter killers 155pts
venerable dread 165pts

Heavy support vindicator-storm bolter-125pts
pred annihilator- storm bolter tl lascannon turret &lascannon sponsons -175pts
whirlwind-storm bolter- 95pts

No rhinos or razorbacks? Two of those Tac units have heavy weapons, so that means you have one unit marching forward to attack?

2/3s of the missions are objective missions, so your troops will be a valuable/viable target over the Dreads. Expect them to be shot apart. in a list like this.

I like dreads, though I hate HK one shot weapons. I would rather get 3 basic Dreads for 315pts then 2 fancy ones for 320pts.

Heavys... ditch the TL turret and stick with the AC, keep the sponsons. Vindicator is fine, but be ready to miss. Also expect it to get alot of fire. I would ditch the Whirlwind and get a second Vindicator (to split fire or at least get a shot or two off with them) or get a Dev squad. Either way, ditch those storm bolters... those are points that you need in troops.

I am not going to comment on Sicarius, I don't use him, not my fluff.

Or instead of the Assault squad you look at gettin 4 Rhinos for 140pts or 4 Razorbacks for 160pts and use the extra 35-55pts to upgrade your troop's heavy weapons and wargear like meltabombs to finish out the list.

i will use it in C&Clike this squads a+1/2 0f d with cato rush forward along with the dreads mean while the vindicator and predator mow down anything attacking that hasn't been killed by the tac squads. my scouts will outflank in the storm and try to capture/control ememy objective

in size ground i combat squad and send each squad after 1 objective with reinforcements as necessary

in annihilation i reserve everything and deep strike/outflank/walk on near vulnerable units and wipe them before moving on to other units

only problem is I'm out of meltas, vindicators and combi-meltas

Speeder storm and scout is mainly an alpha strike unit, so arm the scouts with pistol/cc and melta/PF rathert than missle/sniper. Snipers are for sitting on an objective in cover.

One razorback is not really helping you. You really need 1 for each squad, but if you combat squad them you can get away with 3 - 3 razorbacks and then 3 missile units to hold rear objectives etc.

Basic dreads are close combat units, so you need to get them across the board. Either give them a longer ranged weapon or look at drop-pods.

3 razorbacks and a pred coming acorss the board, with LS storm, DP dreads and assualt squad hitting their back lines so make a pretty solid list. I'd drop the vindi to buy the drop-pods.

I decided to include a DP and termies for a nasty combo here's how it works my drop pod comes in on turn one due to DPA then on turn 2 or 3 [i have good reserve rolls ] my terminators come in and kill anything that isn't paladins with drago [feth them]

so how about this:

I liked your secound list best, just drop the speeder and assault squad from it and dive the dreads drop pods and the marines rhinos.

only problem is i don't have enough drop pods

That's what I came up with on the fly, it's fairly simple. Tact squad your razorback squads, the Lascannons can shooty shoot with the HB's from the Razorbacks, and they sorta protect the Preds, Ironclads pop a tank when they pod in and then if they got shot they did their job and took fire away from everything else. The Speeders can Deepstrike the next turn and then pop more tanks while you take objectives and shoot the hell out of anything trying to scurry around the board.

That's the kind of list i was trying for but i'm limited by resources (i'm only 11)

Lol, well I can sit here and write lists all day, however I don't really know what direction you want to take this list in/what you usually play/if you play competitively/your play style.

A bit of advise no matter what your play style,
1: Drop the PPs on the srgs, they don't do much except eat points.
2: Tac squads need rhinos (or razors if you CS them).
3: Las cannons are not worth it on Tac squads, MLs are more flexible, and free to boot!

i like my plasma pistols honestly they can quite easily pop a tank

well marzooky i like to shoot lots but keep mobile for a last ditch contesting attempt with outflanking speeders

any help now hopeful look

This is definitely a starter list and built to what you have:

1 Shrike

10 Termies w 2 AC
1 Dreadnought (assuming AOBR) MM
1 Dreadnought ditto

10 Tacs w Sgt w PF and Flamer in Rhino
10 Tacs w Sgt w PF and Flamer in Rhino
10 Tacs w Sgt w PF and Flamer in Rhino
10 Tacs w Sgt w PF and Melta in Drop Pod

5 Devastators w 3 ML
5 Devastators w 2 HB and 1 ML


The idea would be to fleet the termies at your opponent, rush your 3 rhino squads up, dismount and fleet them towards the enemy. Drop pod in and melta gun the nastiest tank.
Let your devastators shoot up the enemy tanks (remember the sgt gives BS 5 to a Missile Launcher) along with the two dreadnoughts.

This may be over the 2000 pt limit so then I would drop the dreads first and the 2nd devastator unit.

Just my opinion. A PP and PF on a srg. is a huge points sink. I know it pays for at least a Rhino for the squad(possibly Razor as I don't know how much PPs are). Yes it can pop a tank, but a combi-melta does this better, without the risk of killing the srg. A PF is a good upgrade if you have the points, and is also good for poping tanks.

Thanks DAaddict thats a great list thing and around what i have i will definitely play-test it probably with a dread in the pod as well as the tac squad however does anyone here like asssault squads i just got one

i think i'd drop a dread take a missile launcher and lascannon for the devs and give my DP sarge a combi melta
