Hi all.
You may have seen a simliar post to this one in the painting and modelling blogs, but I think it's more appropriate here. So here we go!

I am doing a GW stuff blog on the internet(link below) and I've started it off by doing a guide how to paint the new finecast Exalted Khorne Champion of Chaos. Please could you check out the blog and tell me where I'm going wrong(or not; as the case may be!) and also C&C for the model wanted and appreciated. It would also be helpful if you could suugest a good baisng scheme.
Many Thanks!
Delrohir.

Well, basing all depends on what you want to go for. Mud/dirt, sand, grass, snow, ash, a combination, what kind of base do you want? But good idea, a base is essential to making a miniature really look finished.

Yeh, I feel like I want to go for snow but I don't know how to base snow. The better pic will be up this evening, I have no time as I am sitting exams today! Any idea's on how to do a snow base would be nice and very appreciated.

If you want to do snow bases, I advise you to base them per squad, that will save you a lot of work. Make sure you give it a ground layer (eventually using some sand or high grass) and paint it before you add snow.
Snow recipe: 1part PVA glue, 1 part water, 1 part snow flock/baking powder/... Ofcourse you can experiment with the mix as you see fit, for example to get a molten snow look
Don't forget the blood spatters... it's chaos, after all! The more spikes you add, the better they will get ^^

Here's what the snow bases look like on my models

I did it with normal modelling snow, and since the first layer was a little thin I layered it up again. I really like the snow sticking to the boots, so I made sure to be messy with the glue and get it on their feet before I dipped them in the modelling snow. I didn't use any base like sand or anything...this worked fine for me, but whatever floats your boat.

Thanks Kern & imark789! I'll give it a try. Tomorrow a good picture of the khorne lord will be on this thread, I am really happy with all the replies. If you would like to see how I painted it and more photo's go to the blog(link in first post!). It would be brilliant if you could give suggestion as to how to improve my colour scheme.
Thanks again!

No problem! I can't think of much more I'd do for the color scheme, I'm not a tremendously good painter and I just paint for TTQ.

Thanks. In a couple of weeks I'm going to paint up a unit of woc and they will certainly be on the blog and on this thread!
