I was reading up on the Tyranid Licter and the unit has the a special ability called chameleonic skin. The special rule that goes with it is stealth. I was thinking about painting one and incorporating that in some way. All the ones I've seen from GW ignore it and they look no different than any of there other hive breather-en. The first thought I had was painting the feet and lower legs maybe up to the knee joint to match the base, but after that I'm at a loss. I have plots of ideas but not sure how to implement them in a way that it would look good and not like a toddler who found the finger paints.

Have any of you painters tried such a thing and with what results? And what would you do different if you did it again?

Thanks for the help

If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

I simply painted mine in a much darker variant of the Kraken scheme, using dark blue, almost black instead of flesh colour, but I'm sure that there are much better ways to do it.

Try a base with high scenery, e.g. a tree or pillar of Lictor height, with the Lictor concealing itself behind the tree/pillar and using its chameleonic abilities to match the tree/pillar's colouring. But remember to point out to opponents that the tree/pillar is purely scenic and doesn't exist for LoS purposes.

Maybe put the Pillar behind the creature to avoid that issue?
