A squad of genestealers with broodlord assaults a 3 killkanz squad. Can the broodlord attempt to use Hypnotic Gaze against a kan?

EDIT: yes I have found the threadnought about gaze vs twilight marines librarian dreadnought but that was a special case. No other vehicles have Ld values bar some more lib dreads and GK stuff. Things like sentinels, warwalkers, kanz, deffdreadz, pentient engine(?), ironclad, ect ect all do not have Ld value.

Basically the question is, can hypnotic gaze be used against walkers?

Typically, walkers do not have a Leadership value so Hypnotic Gaze would have no effect.

As for Libby Dreadnoughts, they do state that they count as Leadership 10 for all psychic purposes so in that case I would say yes, Hypnotic Gaze would work.

Reasons:

Hypnotic gaze is a Psychic Power
Hynnotic Gaze works on models with a Leadership Value
Libby Dreadnoughts have a Leadership Value for all Psychic Purposes

I play:

1000 pt Sons of Calthus
1000 pt Splinter Fleet Goliath

in a word, it will work on BA libby dreadnoughts, but no other vehicle.

There is no argument over BA libby dreads, as they have a leadership value for a defined period, which includes this power.

I raise this point because its worded as "unit" in base contact with broodlord which doesn't exclude walkers. And GW has not FAQ'd it either. The whole, I don't have an Ld value so you can't do this to me doesn't sit well with me.

Also, if it works on libby dreads, will it work on GK vehicles as well?

It doesn't work because there is no way it can work. If you are asked to take a leadership roll and have no leadership value it can't work. Nothing says no leadership models auto pass or fail so your stuck.

it will not work on GK vehicles as they are Ld10 for psychic hoods and psychic tests only.

he could have worded that better.

what he meant was,

there is a difference between Ld0 and not having a Ld value at all.

things without Ld values can't be required to take Ld tests. the BA libby goes against this as it says it is Ld10 for all psychic purposes(which a psychic power that makes you take a Ld test is)

Gk vehicles are Ld10 for the purpose of casting psychic powers and being affected by a psychic hood only.

GW really needs to blend the rules for psychic vehicles better, but we do what we can.
