you know the old metal black legion demon prince? Its that underneath, I cut the sword arm at the elbow and straightened it, reposed the legs, then used milliputt and green stuff to make the muscles. the horns are a blood letters and the sword is made from plasti-card.
I know he's khorne and not tzeentch but hopefully that helps.
and as for your conversion why not use the the new tomb kings sphinx? I always thought it would make a cool looking thousand sons DP so tzeentch would work, obviously convert it up, but yea it would work

Even just the plastic Daemon Prince box can be pretty amazing with minimal conversion work.

If yo uare trying to go for a machine look, It might do to combine a soul grinder/defiler or... i dont know, maybe dreadnought, maybe sentinel? with a bloodcrusher of khorne. I think theres a few interesting possibilities in using a bloodcrusher torso as a base for your daemon prince

I am thinking the feet/legs/hips. Obvioujsly, conversion work required, but the core of the shape/parts are there. And then the same thing with the shoulders. The dreadnought weapon mounts would, I think, be ideal considering this thing I am thinking of is a machine.

oh, im not talking about using the dreadnought torso: use a bloodcrusher for the torso. They have a nice shape that I personally wanted to use. It's just an idea, but it is alot of work.
There's actually a guy who did a great conversion of a dreadnought into a daemon prince! AND I CANT FIND IT!!! D:

Maybe use a venerable dred kit or the FW contemptor dred if you're doing a legion and maybe add some horns to the helmet, spikes, icons, mutations, etc. Just generally make it more chaosy.

I would not think it's too much harder. I would suggest getting a soul grinder. If you have access to the book "Daemon world", by Ben Counter, I think there is a brilliant example to work from. I don't want to ruin the muse for you, but I don't know right now if you fancy reading it.
