Well I was browsing TMP and there was a topic about 28mm Plastic Medievals beyond what Perry does and at the end a user posted something very interesting. Unfortunately this user has tight lips so I have no idea what era or what army is being planned but its food for thought. I hope its not vikings/saxons/WotR though, we got those bases covered. Really hoping for some eastern armies

I do know HaT is making 28mm Byzantines but its soft plastic and it seems to be on a hiatus since last year

Plus they're models are dirt cheap and their quality reflects that

Our mysterious poster strikes again

Von Fabian wrote:The medieval period we are going to start is mainly about late 12th/13th century and what can i say….DEUS VULT!

It is a bit complicated to explain without giving many news i cannot really give at the moment (although i would like to very much)but start considering that in the time period of three/four months after summer, we'll have three plastic box releases thanks to which you'll be able to go back to late 11th century too.

I have to do a final trip to UK at the end of the month (Renedra?? hehehe)for the final agreements before starting the mould production, 3UP bits are all finished and ready for Terry hands.

DEUS VULT means "God wills it". It was used for the rallying cry of the First Crusade!

Sweet, some plastic crusader minis! I hope I can get myself some muslim and teutonic stuff.

I guess this is also good news for bretonnian players wishing for some (assumingly) cheaper alternatives (but this is of course depending on the quality, this is a new company we're talking about)

Its been a while, no site yet but more info passed on. Looks like a December release. Bit far off but it does take a while for these companies

Von Fabian wrote:No you are wrong, we are going to do 28mm multicomponent hard plastic prehistorical caveman! A complete range from the Cro-magnon type to Neanderthal till Homo Sapiens!
Several different heads as well as arms with different weapons like clubs, throwing stones etc. We even have a special miniature of a caveman trying to start fire!

Ok…let's be a little more serious. Kenshin, you are very near to spot it…..

My last trip to Renedra was excellent and everything is set for production. Sadly, being Terry a very busy man his pantoghrap line of production is quite full with production range from other companies (Mantic, Warlord etc.). The spot for our first release was settled for Christmas, therefore, one month later of what i hoped. Anyway, i'm trying to arrange our second and third release for January and February.

We are working on the website as well as preparing the advertise campaign but i cannot start it till the website will go online. I hope to be able to put the website online for the end of the month. You'll see there pics of the 3UP in variuos stages of work as well as the final ones. we'll have articles on what we are going to do in the future etc.

Regards,
Von Fabian

Please for the love of God if they are doing Early Mediaeval they'd better get it right - cookies if you can spot the 6 historical inacurracies in the 'Templar' picture above...

I think it's really sad that some of the most fascinating groups in history (the military-religious orders) are always so badly represented in films, books and games. Read the history (that's genuine history not Dan Brown-esque conspiracy-theories or the 'Masons are Templars' nonsense) and you find a rich and fascinating story replete with enough heroism and villainy to make a holywood producer cry into their frappacino.

Give me the good stuff please!!!!

Sorry, ken, that wasn't aimed at you - pet hate of mine that everyone always draws/paints/dresses-up-as Templars the same way.

Like you say, its not that hard to look in the Osprey book...
