So i'm curious when you play "Team Games" with one or more other players whats your criteria for team mates? What i mean is this, I personally don't care who i team up with. I play Chaos Marine's and i am willing to play with (not against but actually on the same team) Grey knights, witch hunters, Space Marines or whatever/whoever wants to team up. I personally could not care less BUT I have a friend who does care allot and does not want to have his space marines team up with Chaos, Ork or any of the "Darker Forces". I think thats crazy but its his decision and it got me thinking about something. Is this thought proses common or rare?

Please note that when i say "Storyline" i mean anything that involves a story that a battle can be followed. So any fluff, history, novels or anything.

I prefer to keep it sensible in the fluff at the basest sense; if there's two Ork players, an IG, and a Marine player, then I'd like to see the Imperial guys team up. It's fun to write your own goofy fluff for the battle or campaign though, even if it's just what you guys are cracking jokes about all game.

I remember playing a game with my Dark Angels and a buddy's Orks against Chaos Marines and Guard. The Guard were obviously traitors, the Dark Angels were there to hunt for the fallen, and the Orks figured "Oi, deez tin kan boyz is green too!" and went along with it.

I play Dark Eldar and I will never team up with a daemons player, as I see it is more likely for DE to team up with marines or IG rather than them.

I like to make up some sort of story to help all the players get into the game. Team games makes it that much more fun to do so.

Well if there is a way to make a story, I will! I mean, it isn't too far of a stretch of the imagination to have tau alongside the imperium in a mutual alliance, so i do!

I'd prefer to have some sort of Fluff reason as to why the teams are what they are. It is a little easier though as I have both Space Marines and Orks. The other week my buddies and I played a 2v2 match, 1500 points each. We did Imperial vs Xenos, Grey Knights and Space Marines vs Tau and Eldar.

I have a large marine army, so a lot of the time we play equal points 2v1 matches, as my total points equals the overall points of both my friends' eldar, so it works nicely!

I like to go with teams that are possible within the fluff. Guard and marines vs Chaos marines and daemons for example. If it is not possible to make such teams it is not a problem. We can still play. Tyranids and marines vs dark eldar and tau for example is a possibility (just picked random armies). Mostly we do not have this problem in team play. There is usually 3 players when we have games like that. One is playing nids and one is playing guard. I myself play marines, guard, witch hunters and soon dark eldar also. So in team play we usually play Guard and Guard vs Nids.

I shall rule the world someday utilizing my cuteness. And I already have one minion to help me do it!

Of course it makes sense. When there are a bunch of BDSM clowns doing Olympic gymnast routines throughout your unit, while also cutting off heads, you tend to get a bit distracted.

I think it's fine, at the end of the day fluff forfillment shouldn't stop you enjoying the game.

Even the most unlikely match up, like Nids and Necrons vs Deldar and Daemons shouldn't be frowned on, hell how would you like it if after you spent hundreds of pounds, and dozens of hours painting your plastic men that you can't join the game since 'Your army doesn't fit the theme...'

I prefer to at least team-up with people that makes sense fluff wise, but it depends greatly on the army I'm using, what ones my mates are using, and the scenario. For example, I can team-up with anyone when playing Dark Eldar, but, if I play my Grey Knights, I prefer to team up with other Imperial players.

Fluff can be very elastic for any race. In my opinion it's stupid to say no to a game because of fluff if the game went by fluff it would be incredibly different.
