HI, I carnt seem to get a straight reply to this...
If i shoot down a necron with an AP2 wepon does it stay down or can it get back up, And my Hellfire rounds and shells still wound them right, cause i herd sumthing about them not being affected by poison?
Im facing them tomorrow and still havent sorted out a proper list. What do you guys think of this.:
10 termies all with Lighting claws and Term Chaplain
reroll to hit (thnx to chaplain) and to wound (cause their fingers are tiny power swords) , all power wepons so that they stay down, who can stand up after a power wepon ?!

Necrons are only denied their WBB by CLOSE COMBAT weapons that deny armor saves so AP2 still gives them a chance make their roll.
As a necron player I can honestly say power weapons scare the bejeesus out of me. But if your opponent has a Necron Lord with a Ressurection orb, any unit within 6" still gets its WBB even from power weapons. The only thing that stops this are effects that remove things from the game.
Good tactics would be to ignore the monolith if hes fielding one. Its not worth the effort of destroying it if you even have something that can blow it up. Focus down one necron squad at a time. Necrons are denied their WBB roll if the squad is dead and there isnt another identical squad with 6 or 12" I forget which. If one warrior in the squad survives till the end of your turn, his whole squad still gets its WBB

WBB is denied by: S that is double the toughness, Close combat attacks that ignore armor saves When there are no other necrons of the same type within 6" Death due to sweeping advance I think that is about it. Also necrons have limited ap2 weaponry/power weapons so terminators can work well. Just hope he doesn't have a C'tan as he will just charge your termies and eat them for breakfast while you do nothing to him (and at 500 points for that squad he is very, very happy) oh and poison still works just like normal. Its even in the codex in case people wanted to try something.

It will kill a cron warrior, but not a destroyer, immortal or lord. Also if there is a lord nearby with a ressurection orb then he will be able to take his wbb saves.

If youre shooting necrons, then focus fire is key - you idally want to shoot the entire unit down. Even if they get WBB you will likely reduce the number that can make WBB (as each downed model must be within 6", you dont measure to the "unit" of downed models) AND you prevent them 'porting through a monolith to get another 4+ WBB

Thats a bit of a grey area. Technically they could roll WBB for the models within 6 inches of another (undamaged) model of the same type and if any stand up it would also technically give the rest of the unit their WBB because they are now within 6" of an undamaged model of the same type.

That's incorrect. The WBB rule says the the WBB roll is made at the start of every Necron turn and that you roll for every Necron capable of self repair. To be capable, a downed Necron model would have to be within 6" of another Necron model of the same type.
If a Necron model is within 6" of a downed Necron of the same type, the downed model is debris and cannot be used for WBB purposes.
You check and see which Necron models are capable of self-repair and make all the WBB rolls at the start of the turn. You don't make more rolls based on models coming back.

I play against Necrons with Marines and Dark Eldar, and have played using them a few times.
If you ask this question in 40K tactics, I'll give what help I can.
