Use single Nemisis Falchions as Nemisis force swords? The bulk of my army right now consists of the metal troops with halberds and they are too expensive points wise to field in that way. I need to do something about them and I have quite a few falchions from the great psycannon buying spree I just did. The plan is to stick a single falchion arm on the guy and call them swords, since they are just short swords. So do you think there would be any problems in the general population with that?

As long as all of your Falchion-as-Sword equipped GK are the same, and you arent using Falchions as Falchions, you should be fine.

I'd be wary of making mistakes on number of attacks and such. Remember that your opponent has to be given a chance to know what's what as well and keep track of it. Maybe a small sign with an appropriate icon on it to tag along with the unit informing of the stand-in?

Provided they only have one falchion per model then i wouldnt see a problem. As you said they're only short swords

I don't see a problem.
If he has one sword, it's a sword.
If he has two swords, it's falchions
If he has a sword on a stick, it's a a halberd.

I'm curious to hear the argument from the people who answered "yes." I really see no problem with this at all.

i have to agree,
1 weapon is a sword (using a hammer here might be iffy unless you dont have any daemon hammers or they are distinct.)
2 weapons would be falchions
big stick with sharp thing is halberd
big stick with blunt thing is hammer

The argument is quite easy - whenever a poll comes on a certain number of votes will be misclicks, trolls or people who have an extreme opinion they are not willing to defend.
|
7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Well the poll is a bit confusing, it is a double negative. Why not say 'does this fit WYSIWYG' not 'Does this not fit wysiwyg'

I'm already doing this to avoid using the head-on-a-sword sword.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

As long as clearly tell your opponent what they count as you shouldn't have any problems. I know I'm fine with most "counts as" weapons/models my opponents use (within reason. no small base models being used for large base models, for example) as long as they tell me and are clear before the game.
If your just playing a friendly game, and someone makes a big deal about it, then just don't play them. I've seen people use all vanilla marines (ultra marine painted) all "counts as" GK in tournaments even, lol.

A pair of falchions must be a pair to meet WYSIWYG. A single falchion would be a sword. So no problem in it representing a nemesis force weapon.
