As the title says. Halo Forerunners or 40k C'tan. Who would win?
In addition to all other [halo] vs. [ 40k]

Forerunners eventually, with the same method as the enslavers. In all out War, the C'tan, as we don't have too much info on Forerunner military power.

The C'tan are gods. The Forerunners are pretty similar to the Old Ones. The C'tan beat the Old Ones. This one is pretty easy, the C'tan win.

But no one knows anything about the fore runners. So we dont know what they are capable of. So there is no point in arguing this

Forerunners created Halo..

They created the Halo arrays, the Ark, Onyx, the Dreadnought and many other structures in the galaxy. Their military capability isn't detailed. They used a large amount of light/heat based weaponry as it was effective against The Flood. The Dreadnought powered a station the size of a moon with a fraction of its power, and was able to defeat near all vessels the Sangheilli were able to create with only a portion of its systems activated.

Yup. If thats only a part of their military power, they would own. Anyways, they will have a big military power, as the flood is always near..

But compare that to the C'tan, who are gods. Does this include the necrons as the C'tans fighting force?

We know a pretty good amount about the Forerunners, actually. They were builders, they weren't particularly gifted in a military sense (making powerful weapons doesn't mean that you have the skill to use them effectively, after all). Master Chief and his allies were able to do what the Forerunners could not: defeat the Flood without destroying all life in the galaxy.

But where are they... they are still alive, AFAIK.. They will return. And you have to say, you dont know how long they held back the flood.

C'tans eat planets for breakfast. They are also Immortal and have killed billions for the fun of it.

Not really. We know of their fight with the Flood and their motivations, not much else. The Master Chief was able to defeat a small Flood infestation by doing the exact same thing, firing the Halo array. The Forerunners made a single initial mistake, and then had to deal with a threat on a galactic scale.

Killing billios doesnt mean you are powerfull. It means you are afraid to lose power.

Well, we don't know the capability of the one, and C'Tan literally cannot be destroyed (except to be eaten by another C'Tan).

Can't really call this one either way, the Forerunners may well be able to imprison the C'Tan somehow.

It could also mean that you are the most badass mothertrucker in the galaxy.

You see, the C'tan have not only been around since the beginning of the universe, they also have a immortal army (Necrons) and are immortal themselves.

The only person to trap a C'tan was the Emperor and the Void Dragon, and that was because the Void Dragon wanted to be trapped.

Now, there isnt a reason to kill without reason (lol). You most have a reason. Fear is the best possible.

Everyone here is forgetting that as of now, Matt Ward is making the Necron 5th edition codex, and rumors say that the C'tan are being redone. If thats the case, I want to give it to the Forerunners, purely because any downgrade of the C'tan like the rumors say is bull. If they are left alone, and remain how they are, the C'tan would win.

You can't trap the C'tan in the physical world, as they're masters of realspace. They can pass through matter, move it, turn it into energy, whatever they want. The only, only real chance that the Forerunners would have would come from some ability to tap into the warp, or another dimension that is equally anathema to the C'tan. If they can't do that, they literally have no chance against the C'tan, and neither does anyone else for that matter.

That is until Mat Ward finishes the new Necron Dex, and we find out that the Necrons asked the Swarmlord and Darnath Lysander to team up with them so that they could break the power of the C'tan and trap them all in a set of containment spheres. When entering battle, Necron Lords toss these containment spheres upon the ground and intone the ancient litany "Nightbringer! I choose you!"

They didn't beat the Old Ones though. The Enslaver Plague did. The C'tan were simply the ones left standing.

Incorrect. In their desperation, the Old Ones threw so many young races into the fire against the C'tan that they created the Enslaver Plague. It was a fight that they couldn't win without destroying themselves.

I'd love to field Fluttershy in my Necron Army, but alas, I won't be able to until Ward finished the codex....

"The C'tan now dominated the galaxy. The last bastions of the Old Ones were besieged and the races they had nurtured became cattle for the obscene hunger of the C'tan."

- Necron codex, page 25

The C'tan and the new Necrons seemed to steamroll the Old Ones and their manufactured races, the Old Ones only managing their last defense after the C'tan got done eating eachother.

Assuming this is the C'tan at full power backed with the Necrons, they probably cannot really lose. A starship imbued with a measure of the Nightbringer's power is capable of annihilating star systems on a whim, and he is not even the strongest.

The Forerunners have no demonstrated method to defeat them truly, Halo will do... Well really it wouldn't do anything to the Necrons or C'tan, neither being organic at all.

The only way to permanently kill a C'tan short of one C'tan eating another is with massive amounts of pure Warp-juice, ala Blackstone Fortresses, something the Forerunners do not have.

Though after Ward gets done punking them as the rumors say... Yeah.

Slipspace? Similar, could be a potential weapon. they've demonstrated using it as such before.
