So the acothyst has 2 4+ poison weapons and takes a scissorhand. He starts with 2 attacks base.

The rules say he may 'take one of the following' not 'replace a cc weapon' with the scissorhand. Scissorhand is a 3+ poison attack.

So does he get 2 attacks base, +1 for two close combat weapons, +1 for the scissorhand at 3+ poison? It never says the original 4+poison weapons were a special close combat weapon, so I think this is how to play it. Any ideas?

The problem is, poisoned weapons is a special type of weapon. A model with two different special weapons (and they are different) can not gain an additional attack.

So it seems it is better for a Haemonculi which has a ccw and a pistol standard. Add in a scissorhand for an additional attack,

1 attack base, +1 for 2 close combat weapons, +1 for scissorhand, all at poison 3+.

that was my question. So for the acothyst, he would have either the scissorhand 3+ or the two poisoned 4+ close combat weapons.

Eldaraddict - a poisoned weapons is, by defintion, a special ccw. Read page 42. Any weapon that isnt a normal ccw, i.e. that does anything at all special, is a special CCW.

So if you have a scissorhand and 2 poisoned weapons, you have 2 different special CCW and never gain the additional attack, regardless of which one you choose. So you lose an attack but poison on a 3+
