When using Commander Cullin it is stated in IA vol. 9 that they may exchange their combat tactics for the option to upgrade veteran sergeants in their tactical squad to Apothecary for free, but if using Codex Space Marines they don´t have Veteran Sergants. If looking in IA vol 6 they still don´t have any veteran sergeants but they have the option to pay an upgrade cost for the Apothecary. In IA vol 4 I have the abillity to upgrade my sergeants to veterans but these marines uses 4th ed rules so, how is this rule on Cullin in IA vol 9 intended to be used correctly?

FW books have notoriously bad editing. Just ignore the word Veteran.

The Tactical Squad you want to use with them is the Red Scorpions version. It is a copy/paste from Codex:SM, with the addition of Apothecaries for NN points. Culln lets you take them at no charge. I forget which book they are in ATM.

Replay from Forge World:

Hi there.

The rules in volume 9 are the most up to date rules and so the take precedent over any previous rules for the Red Scorpions. Simply put any Red Scorpion squads can replace the Sergeant with an apothecary which follows all of the rules regarding apothecaries from the command squad. These apothecaries may not take any options available to the sergeants.

Thanks
