So, the question is... Scab red or Blood red? I have black primer and neither seem to show up too nicely from what I've used it on. Any advice for how to apply?

I am also just considering just doing some bits in dwarf bronze and leaving them black because I use black legion. Opinions?

Gathering the Informations.

To get the 'red' to really show up, use Scorched Brown as the basecoat.

If you're doing Black Legion, why not have the majority of the model done in Black Legion's hallmark black/gold with their axe arm done in red?

Prime Black, thin coats of scab red then more thin coats of 1:1 scab/blood red.

Leaving them black and using dwarf bronze to pick out details and such is one way for sure, but I feel, even if you play black legion, that it takes away a bit from the unit. Having Khorne berserkers in anything but a nice scab red is cheating imho (no offense intended). Using brown as a basecoat is a good tip. Go with that, and then apply the red with the dwarf bronze. That's my vote.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think I'll try a champion in red, and if that works, I will go all out red.

I Like Mechrite red as the base, then a 50/50 thin coat of Mechrite and Scab red. then a thin layer of Scab red.
