Damn, totally missed this, and bang just when I thought I'd not be doing much in the way of MMO gaming for a good while. One of my fave MMO's is going f2p.
Much prefer the controls (in a feel of the game sense) and even look of the heroes in CoX over Champions, once this goes live, It'll be on my PC for certain. Hopefully my account can be downgraded to f2p and I'll still have access to my City of Villians Collectors Edition bits.
CoX going f2p
Anyone else happy regarding this?

I'll definately be having another look at it. I've been torn between CoH/V and Champions for a while. I've been leaning towards champions but I may reconsider now I can have good look at it for free. I always found it very deserted, maybe this will bring in some new players.

It's about time.
I miss a lot of my old heroes and villains. The creation aspect of CoX is unrivaled.
I doubt it will end up as a long-term investment ever again, but I'll be happy to pick it up and play it occasionally.

Aye, creation was great in CoX. I also prefered the NPC's in general. The villian organization reminds me of Cobra from GI Joe, and thats a good thing.
The Villains and even the Heroes to some degree in Champions didn't quite catch my interest.

While I like CO I always feel they give everything to you too easily. You learn travel powers too early and being able to fly means you can easily escape most enemies. While it makes sense to beat gang members easily it does detract from the game. I think i'll be going with CoX now because CO is really lacking without 2 opposing factions.

It's called CoX because it is a combination of City of Heroes and City of Villains. It's a very different game to the normal Wow clones if your after something different.
