So. After changing my color scheme; I've found that a white basecoat works better for sunburst yellow Angry Marines. Is there a good way to re-basecoat from black to white? Or is it just good to do it again with white? It looks uneven on black basecoat, especially on vehicles. Multiple coats only works on infantry models.

Probably work

You should strip the models first. You won't like what you end up with if you respray over the existing primer.

You can usually spray over one layer of primer without too much loss of detail. As long as you don't look too close, things will generally look okay. You're better off buying a bottle of Simple Green and stripping them though.

Hm. And how do you strip them? Will it lose much detail?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I've got plenty of simple green; so it won't be much of a problem.

I can post pics of what it looks like with black and white, if you want. It might change your opinions- if its workable.

To strip them, literally pour out your simple green into a container, throw the models in there, leave em to soak for say 24 hrs.

Then take to them with an old toothbrush and the paint will start to come off.

Battle Brother Lucifer suggested a thin layer of skull white before the paint... I think I'll try that, then strip if it doesn't work.
