Hello there!

I didn't like how Scavarous' weapon was placed and decided to work it over a little bit. This was the first time I've ever done something like this and I'm quite proud of the end result. Just looking for some thoughts and feedback!

I chopped one hand off of the handle of his scythe and turned the remaining bar into a bone. I also filled some of the arm cavities with green stuff and molded hoses and pistons into it.

Not bad at all. I might have gone for a spinal column with skull instead of the bone (femurs don't seem very interesting to forensic necromancers for some reason), but it's a nice conversion.

ooh good idea. That'd would've been a nightmare to try to sculpt for me That'd look sick, though!

Remove the staff from the scythe entirely and drill out a couple of holes. Used a length of brass or plastic rod to replace the haft to give you a single uniform smooth look.

For a spinal column for the skull, harass your Dark Eldar friends until find one who purchased a Talos. Steal one of the tentacles that came with that, as they're very nicely spine shaped, and use that.

For a bonus, steal the rest of your friend's Talos bitz, as they're all awesome.

Thanks, Aduro. I've been admiring your work for awhile now! Great stuff

Aduro, did you replace the shaft on your scythe? I was wondering what size rod you use. 1/16 seems too small. maybe 5/64 or 3/32?

@ K_smith: what I am doing with my left hand is removing the shaft entirely and letting it be a fist with a pointing finger. Also, how did you cut and greenstuff your right arm? Do you have any other shots of that?

Thanks guys!

I did replace the whole shaft on the scythe. I don't know if I could tell you the size of the plastic rod I used as those have become so unsorted and mixed up however. I'll look when I get home and see if I can't figure out what was used.

Oooooooorrrr... The bag of rods could be right on top of the pile. Looks like the piece I used was most likely 0.1", aka 2.5mm.

Looks good so far. I don't know if its feasible or not but instead of the bone in his left had I would have tried making it a skull, since lore-wise he's known for talking to his favorite skulls all the time.

Cool, thanks. Now I just need to find a place to get plastic rods from.

Inspired by K_smith and Aduro I finally finished my Scaverous conversion. Two big hurdles:

First, I got two left arms in my blister. So had to wait about almost 2 weeks to get my right arm.

Second, Trying to find a rod to replace the weapon shaft. I fianlly found a plastic rod at the local plastics company.

I have alot of WIP pictures, but thought I would share the final.
