I've read it many times here and elsewhere about the FAQ on the Specialist Games website SMF being 'official'.

How official is it, how long will it be before the 2010 FAQ is up on the GW website or the rules PDFs are altered there? I want to keep my ruleset up to date and am keen to know when these changes will be made to GW's rules?

Even the FAQ2007 which was hosted on the old OFFICIAL Specialist Games site is not on the GW site.

So... always talk about it with your group / opponents.

See, I use the 2010 rulings but do not use everything from it. Heck, I even use the blastmarker rulings from the original v1.0 rulebook (since these where the best!), plus we have house rules for Eldar.

Since official tournaments are sparse. Adepticon allowed the drafts.
Playing in GW stores? Who does that?

So... personal things.

Well, how or why are people listing them as 'official' then?

Also, where is the nice and tidy PDF for me to download or do I just print off the answers on the thread to take around with me?

Heh, apparently GW Aberdeen stopped people from playing Specialist Games in the store because it was not profitable enough.

Because it was developed/made by the three people (Nate Montes, Bob Henderson and Ray Bell, together called BFG High Admirality / rule committee) who have been installed (as freelance) by GW to take care of the game of Battlefleet Gothic. If you d/l the Ships of Mars pdf at the GW site you'll see there names on it as well.

That's what I consider official development. GW is just... I'll stop now...

Here is the link to the pdf (+ more development / waiting on GW stamp).

Believe it or not, the local GW store (Springfield, VA) has had a resurgence in BFG lately, apparently. BFG models have returned to the display cases in the frong of the store, and apparently games are regularly held on Fridays. I have yet to make to one, though, because Friday is my usual FLGS game night .
