Your list seems to be centred around the Tigers. You should drop the StuG platoon and take some artillery, either nebs or mortars if they are available.

If he drops the StuGs then he's going to be hard up for AT fire unless he drops them for some AT gun emplacements. Otherwise, with the smoke that will land on those Tigers, he's going to be down to a total of 6 AT shots a turn, tow of them 12" and immobile the turn they fire. As it stands you can actually win an engagement with this list pretty easy anyway with a tank force with smoke shells and some arty.

You smoke his Tigers with arty, then shoot at his StuGs with things like M10's and Shermans. Then you drop Smoke on what's left with your second group of Shermans. Even if you kill nothing you likely reduced his shots by at least two with the Sherman smoke leaving him with 4 shots of AT 13 and 6 shots of AT 11 a turn on average. Not exactly impressive return fire even if your dice are rolling bad enough that AT 11 fire wasn't cracking or bailing even a single StuG in a turn.

His best bet is to play a balanced list and not to make the big cats the entire focus. You can frighten new players with a smaller group of them and have points to spare.

Agreed Tigers in 1,500 is uphill work, but I got the impression the Tigers were the point of the list, that one platoon is over half the army's points.

If Tigers are key, running Tiger March (Earth + Steel) or Kampfgruppe Bake (Free PDF) may be a better option.

Thus far he's wanted to run Panzer IV's and StuG's, a pure Panther list, and now this. I'm trying to get the point across that as starting lists these will all be up hill. It's better to start with the keys to a good list and then add the toys.

Then I recommend a free PDF list and some proxies. The flaws in all armour lists soon become apparent.

Like a said, these lists are just a thought, im new to FoW, and im not used to making armies to where there are like 50 differeant lists to where your meant to choose certian things, Im used to creating armies that have a cet list like ancients(DBMM) and renaissance (DBRR) orl ists where you can choose to what ever you want like 40k or fantasy for a points cost.
But the hole System Battlefront is running is quite new to me, I've bin looking at serveral lists, and i just downloaded a free PDF of "Fortress Europe" so Im having a look at that as well.
Would you guys reccommend any german armys from Fortress Europe?

I found a Fallchrimjager company that looks quite cool.

HQ-2 Rifle/MG teams, 2 Panzerchreck teams-85pts

Combat-3 Fallchrimjager Rifle/MG teams-250pts

Combat-3 Fallchrimjager Rifle/MG teams-250pts

Combat-3 Fallchrimjager Rifle/MG teams-250pts

Support-3 Fallchrimjager Rifle/MG teams-250pts

Now I wasent sure if I should add 3 Tigers or some Anti-tank/Arty

And I say this to you Canadian 5th, this is only A THOUGHT, an Idea

I thought some art might be good to have, for smoke purposes and taking out shermans and other armour

I wouldn't ever really rely on artillery to actually kill anything (not unless you're British with an 8-gun 25 pdr Battery with an AOP, like me ) but it'll be great for laying down smoke and hopefully pinning units.

I'm trying to spread the word, so I'll stick the link here as well:

Seriously, check this website out. It's semi-free army builder with regular updates and support from Battlefront. $1 USD will get you ALL of the lists from the new Earth & Steel D-Day briefing book, which features no less than 9 different German Tank Companies.

Trust me, this is a fantastic army builder, and will definately let you play around with as many lists as you want to. (There's also 2 Canadian lists from the Turning Tide book as well, which is also only $1!
