Hey Dakka!

Just courious as to how other BA/GK players are transporting this hog of a model from home to your FLGS/Tourney. Currently I have been carrying mine by hand.

Is there a safe and easy way to do it??!

I have a Valkyrie, so it's a similar concept - I game about a mile from my house, and it's not a too bad walk usually. However, if I want to bring my Valk, I bring a separate box that's roughly the same size as it, packed with leftover foam from my pluck foam cases. It's not perfect, but it works. Not gluing the stand on really helps too.

Battlefoam makes a custom foam. I'm buying one that is GK oriented.

Michael's craft stores in CA sell these clear plastic scrap book sorting containers. For $10 you can buy one. They are stackable and can hold 8 IG vehicles (chimeras and such) plus a Vendetta, Just be sure to pack with a fleece shirt to separate. My friend uses it the same way to move his Stormraven.

Just put the tanks on bottom, cover with thick cloth then place Stormraven on top

I transport my vendettas with battlefoam custom cuts. They work well but are expensive. I also haven't figured out a good way to transport the flying stems.

I actually just spoke with one of the guys at sabol. He had a SR on hand (with landing gear down) and told me that the tail of model just poked above the 4" double wide tray. He said there was also room for a dread or 2 in addition to the SR.

I already use Sabol cases so i think this is what i am going to go with. Since my SR has a landing gear up, I think this will work just perfectly. However, the stem will be an issue as cgmckenzie brought up.

I have this problem with defilers too. I usually just don't use one, but if I do, I put him in a box with the top off, and carry him around.

Valkyries are a pain too, I know

My SR is magnetized. I bought a $10 gun case from Walmart that had pluck foam in it. Breaks down good and fits secure. Works like a charm.

crazyK, that is very resourcful, but alas it will not work for me. i glued my wings on! :( do you think you would be able to use the gun case with wings attached??

this is at least practical for Stormravens since the most you ever have is 3. with Valks or Vendettas you could have 9 so with those you at least need a case.

I have found that 2 will fit in a GW pickout foam section.

Can Vanilla Marines use Storm Ravens?

Legally, no. However, I had heard they are going to make it possible in the summer of fliers(if it ever actually happens).

If you want to use it, check out the rules for other SM chapters and adjust accordingly.
