I'm working on some goblin spider riders and for Heroes I would like to use goblins from the Goblin Regiment, especially since the regiment comes with "rider" legs (I assume for wolf riders).

If I put the riders directly on the spider, they appear to be "standing" on the legs of the spider. But, if I chop off the 2nd forward-most pair of legs the goblin can ride the spider properly.

So, what does Dakka think? Should I have 6-legged "spiders" with goblins properly riding the spiders, or 8-legged spiders with the goblins "standing" on their mounts?

Input is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I don't like the 'perched on a spider' look either.

You could instead extend the spider body with a bit of sprue or plasticard (Edit: after cutting it in half between the 2nd and 3rd pairs of legs!) just enough so the goblin legs can fit between the spider legs?

The riders are "Forest Goblins" and are limited in weapon selection and look like the rest of my spider riders. These guys will stand out better.
