A new list I made today. It hasn't been field tested yet, so I'm going purely on theory. This is also supposed to be a list I can build up to/around, as I'm essentially restarting my model collection. Comments, questions, critiques?
Thane: 90 points
(General)
-Rune of Challenge
Sticking him in the middle of the two warrior blocks. He can set up elite units for a take down with Ro Challenge; either forces them to charge into the warriors, or makes them flee, and prime bait for artillery, rangers, and/or rear charge by warriors.
Thane: 115 points
-Battle Standard Bearer
-Rune of Shielding
Lurk around rear lines, protecting warriors and war machines from any leadership checks that might be forced upon them. Ro Shileding protects from any ranged assault, and he'll steer clear of combat altogether.
x2 Dwarf Warriors x15: 175 points
-Full Command
-Great Weapons
Provide general hard-hitting troops to the army. Intended to inch forward, and let the enemy come first.
Quarreller Rangers x15: 235 points
-Full Command
-Great Weapons
Scouts ahead, taking out any war machines with crossbows, and providing flank/rear charges when available. Great weapons let them hold their own in combat (with S5 and T4).
Organ Gun: 120 points
At this low a point level, an organ gun's going to be a nasty surprise for anyone facing this army. Since anyone I face will be expecting at least one war machine (this being a dwarf list), the organ gun can also serve as WM protection with its 360 fire arc.
Cannon: 90 points
The obligatory war machine option. Will be murder to any monsters my opponent tries to surprise me with, and at least an annoyance to anything else.
EDIT: Fixed the red font.

Ok first off that red font is really hard to read. Outside of the Organ Gun and Quarrellers everything else is fairly useless. Sorry don't mean to be blunt. 15 warriors is just not enough, 20 minimum. Cannon with no forging is just an expensive unreliable cannon. What sets us apart from the humans, orcs and skaven are our ability to rune up warmachines and make them more reliable and stronger. BSB is very important, he needs a few things, 1 to be in a unit or he will be shot down he needs that bunker and the look out sir rolls. 2 he needs more defense MRoGromil and RoResistance are a must in my opinion. The other Thane is not spectacular. The only reason to take MRoChallenge is if you have RoBrotherhood and are in with some scouting rangers for a turn 1 screwfest on enemy lines from the get go. For 1k I recommend one of these lists:
Runesmith (Shield, RoSpellbreaking, RoStone) - 102
Thane (BSB+25, MRoGromril, RoResistance) -140
32 Warriors (Great Weapons + Full Command) - 345
12 Quarrellers (GW, Musician) - 161
Organ Gun - 120
Cannon (RoForging) - 135
998
or even better:
Runesmith (RoResistance, RoStone, Shield) - 102
Thane (BSB, MRoGromril) - 115
29 Warriors (Great Weapons + Full Command) - 315
16 Quarrellers (Great Weapons + Full Command) - 233
Cannon (RoForging, RoBurning) - 130
Grudge Thrower (RoAccuracy) - 105
1000
GT out performs the OG in my experience and is more diverse for the chance to plop a stone on a monster's head. Unless you are going to be facing a hydra or hell pit you could even ditch the cannon and pick up an OG or a 2nd GT and still have points left over.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Interesting. Now, I was under the impression that the RoShielding would give the BSB enough protection. I take it he needs more? I had heard that RoForging was a must on cannons; I'll change that. Should the Quarrelers remain rangers? or are they not worth it at this points level?

I would keep that as rangers if you plan on taking a Grudge Thrower over the Organ Gun. The reason being they will cause an enemy to force an engagement on them unless they want to get plunked by arrows. This is going to delay a unit or more from making it to your lines buying some more time for shooting at them with your war machines. The reason I say a GT over a OG for this is the OG has a short range so you might not get the extra shooting out of it where the GT can.
