Well, here it is. The color scheme was used to match an existing Khador force (one that is heavy on the flame motifs). I don't know if there's a lot more introduction for it:

I really like the horses and the flames, the model as a whole is fantastic. Great work!

An awesome miniature and paintjob to match.

nice one, Drew...

you are the first one out of the gate painting this monstrosity, as far as i've seen...
the black paintjob kind of makes it look small though...
maybe a pic with a jack for scale, to show how much work actually went into this piece...

keep up the good work...

cheers

Looks great. The flames bring much needed brightness to the model.

I'm curious how it looks amidst the rest of the matching army.

Very nice scheme.

Looks great!

Did you end up building the gun carriage or did your client? I ask because I wonder how well that model would lend itself to conversion as it seems like a good foundation to build an Ork vehicle.

Well, yeah. I'm a professional painter, so there's always a project on my table. Well, at least two at a time, actually, since I paint my own stuff at the end of the work day.

Yes I did. The main hull is all one piece (it is a huge block of resin). It sits on another fairly large resin piece that contains the axles and cross beam that attaches to the horses.

The rest of the bits are metal- including the guns themselves (but not the pill shape turret hulls), the guy at the top, the horses and the wheels themselves.

The only thing that is a real hassle to assemble is that the bottom of the main hull was cast with an open topped resin mold, so you have to shave off about a millimeter of resin before it will fit together right.

I'd love to giver you a size comparison pic, but I didn't get one, and this mini has gone the way of all commissions (mailed out to its owner).

But so that you know, the base that he's on is actually the size of a CD/DVD (I checked). That's pretty impressive, I think.

Nice job on the barding. The metallics look good without being detracting. Excellent work.

Thanks. I have spent quite a bit of time getting metallics to work well with miniature compositions, and I think I've gotten it down pretty well.

I like the choice of colors! Its looks like it was meant to be like that instead of the usual Khador red.

Another great piece of work. I especially like the horses, a lot more than the other studio pictures I've seen of this model.

It's very nicely painted. The flames in particular are very well done although I'm not overly fond of flame motifs.
