- the BackpackTwo double version has an expandable section for a 2nd case
- expandable section zips neatly into the backpack when not in use
- carry up to 2 card KR Multicases in the BackPackTwo
- or combine a KR Multicase in there along with your clothes, shoes, etc for overnight travel
- large comfortable shoulder straps for easy travel
- large pockets for books, accessories etc
- 2 large side pockets for cans and bottles etc
- elasticated mesh for large items
- ergonomic and stylish design
- chest and waist clips for cyclists and bikers
- fully waterproof

Yo dawg we heard you like army cases so we put an army case in your army case so you can carry and army case while you carry an army case.
This puts KR pretty much into the Battlefoam price range, and that's absolutely ridiculous.

Did battlefoam released a backpack already?
Back packs are my favorite type of bag so yeah this one looks awesome.

Oh, mine too. I go to my FLGS on a bicycle.
BF had an awesome backpack that they seem to have discontinued for some reason. KR does seem to be the only option currently if you simply must have a backpack.
But I think it totally defeats the point of buying low-budget cardboard cases if you then go and buy an expensive canvas bag (Kaiser) or backpack to carry them in.

I do like the KR designs because if you have multiple armies you can keep them in the cardboard boxes for general storage at home and then just pop them into their cases if you need to travel.

Depends how you store your models. I have no models on display, and no room to have them all out around the house, and I have lots of armies. I use KR card Multicases to store them in. Most of my armies take up two Multicases, and I think I have 14 Multicases in total. I have a single Kaiser 2 bag that I can pop an army in when I need to travel with it. To do the same thing with Battlefoam bags would be ridiculously expensive. Add to this that I cycle all the time, and the Backpack 2 might be quite a good idea for me. My only criticism is that I think they could have been designed a bit better. I'm sure it's been made to be exactly the right size it needs to be, but it just looks like any thin old backpack that I can buy on my local market stall. I think they'd sell more if it looked a bit more purpose-built. Automatically Appended Next Post:
I think the Feldherr one has a better design, but again, I'd have to find somewhere else to store all those foam trays in the house, and then 'unload' them into the backpack each time I play a game.
I'm not sure about the intended market for the Feldherr one, but if I came off my bike while going to a game I would expect my minis to be safer inside the KR one - a hard (admittedly, cardboard) case AND a padded backpack, rather than the Feldherr one - just foam inside a padded backpack.

Ah, I forgot about those. Last time I saw them the shipping charges were outrageous (as is always the case when buying from Germany, in my experience). I see they offer free shipping now, so they're worth considering.
Regarding storing all your models in foam... KR cases would be the cheapest then, yes, but still prohibitively expensive. My suggestion then would be to buy one quality case and make your own trays for model storage. A while ago I bought a 30mm and a 10mm foam sheet (200x100 cm) and a can of foam adhesive... that cost me 40 euro in total and is enough material for 30 Sabol or 16 BF sized trays.

KR announced recently that they have a US based distributor/warehouse now. Should be on their news page or indeed perhaps somewhere on DAkka. Automatically Appended Next Post: lord_blackfang wrote:

You could but who really has the time to do this. £18 for a box and foam is spot on for the lazy and if you have trays already the boxes ship for less than a tenner.
I am biased, having done much the same as Ian but on a smaller scale: next up Epic and FoW cases.

Here's the main international site, prices are in dollars.

Here's the listing of various tray types and sizes, aside from custom cut ones.
Sad to say it looks like the offer does not extend outside the UK, at the moment, but it could be that they're just updating their site with US prices.

Going to pick one up when I get paid.
I do find it funny when people moan that these are cheap cardboard.
My "Cheap Cardboard" Case has survived having a bookcase fall on it stay there for the afternoon with no damage to the models inside...
Hell these things even survive being thrown out of moving vehicles, http://www.krmulticase.co.uk/testing.html
These will be great for me as it will let me get a case in there plus will get my work laptop and notepad in there for a casual visit to my FLGS after work.

You really seem to have something against KR in these posts, and you keep talking up the BF product. Have you had a bad experience with KR's product? I'd like to know, since I'm considering buying a 2x or 3x aluminium case from them in the next week.

Not with a cardboard case however the Aquila single and double have been taken on a rain adventure and survived completely fine.
As scipio says you do seen very anti KR, have you actual used one?
@Scipio, I got a 3x Aliminium the other week well worth picking up It's a beast

I've never owned a KR. I know several people who do and they seem happy with them.
I don't particularly hate KR. I simply think they have a bad price/functionality ratio. Especially since the last price hike. I might have considered them before.
That's my own opinion. People have different needs and different budgets. Like I already said, I personally need a case that I can comfortably carry on a bike and that is water resistant. I also want it to carry my entire army. The cardboard KR doesn't cut it. I could make it work by adding a Kaiser bag or this new backpack but then what's the point, I could get a proper case for the same money.
I also resent that they do not have any extra pockets. I don't want to carry an extra backpack just for my rulebooks and dice. KR is not a gamer's case, it's a generic case with foam in it, and it shows.
I don't own a BF but I would love to, I've seen a FoW case in person and it is worth every penny... to me. I go to games with a bus or bicycle. Now, if I had a car, so I would only need to carry my army for a few yards, I wouldn't bother with any of these cases. I would buy an IKEA cardboard crate for $5 and fill it with the custom trays I made myself.
I do like KR's small Aquila cases that MunkeyKungFu mentioned. I am seriously considering getting one for my Necromunda stuff. I think the price is good, and it fits into my old backpack, so no issues with dice and book space.

I am not the brightest bulb but I would have thought the front panel would be good for rule books.
And those side thingies would be a nice place to put dice in, possible even a pen or two for scores.
You are entitled to an opinion on the bag, whether you have used it or not, however your opinion makes me of the opinion that you either have poor eyesight or KR kicked your puppy when you were younger as you seem rather unhappy with them for some reason.
You have stated your opinion, multiple times, and as you have also stated you have not purchased/owned/used any of the KR product can we leave it at that and leave people who have experience with the company tell me what they think of the bags so I can make a legitmate choice rather than wading through post after post of "I've never tried it but X is better."
Ok, so anyone who actually has something from KR, what is the bag stuff like? I have seen/felt their smaller Aquilla stuff and while the outide was foamy it did feel thin material wise.
Are the Kaiser stuff/this backpack that different?

The card cases can easily hold the small rulebook and a codex on top of the foam topper. the aquila and the Kaiser bags will allow you to include those and I have got a dice bag and templates in there as well quite comforatably. Just because it does not have a pouch does not make it unpractical for a gamer...

I thought my posts was pretty clear. I was talking about the cases, not this backpack that costs extra. That's like saying a Smart has plenty of trunk space because you can hitch a trailer to it.
The best way to stop me from repeating my opinion over and over is to stop challenging every post I make. Just an idea. I don't know why my position is so unacceptable to you, I already explained the particularities of my army case needs, and acknowledge that they are specific to me.
And take a look at MunkeyKungFu's posts, he can reply by adding relevant information and without insulting me just because we don't see eye to eye.

Have you tried cycling home in the rain with one? I can do that with my Sabol. And I have, many times. I'll be able to do it with BF, too, once I get one. I think the idea is that, as I said before, the case system is intended to be used slightly differently - that the cases are cheap options for storage, and then you have a single 'bag' for transporting any combbination of your cases. This is very different from the way Battlefoam and Sabol intend to be used. I've cycled home in the rain with my Kaiser 2 with two card cases inside it and they were fine, because that's what the Kaiser bag thingy is for... I'm not saying either of us has the 'right' solution, but more that they're two completely different systems. Vain wrote:Ok, so anyone who actually has something from KR, what is the bag stuff like? I have seen/felt their smaller Aquilla stuff and while the outide was foamy it did feel thin material wise. Are the Kaiser stuff/this backpack that different? Yeah, they're not bomb-proof, but they certainly do the job. I think my kaiser is made of the same thin plastic/fabric stuff most sports backpacks are made of, with maybe 5mm of foam inside. It has a panel of plastic in between the sheeting which gives it more rigidity. I would certainly say that both the Sabol and Battlefoam bags are made of much sturdier material than a Kaiser, less likely to rip etc... but then with those systems you're putting foam trays of models directly into them, so I guess they'd have to be pretty sturdy bags. The Kaiser is a much more flimsy product, but then you're putting hard cases into it. In comparison, say if a bookshelf were to fall on my models, I think my models would be slightly better protected when inside their Multicases and the (full) Kaiser, than they would be inside my friends Pack 432 and just foam. But, to nip the current Dakka trend in the bud, I'm not going to do an experiment to test this....

I have a Kaiser double aluminium case.
I kept it stored on top of the kitchen cabinets. It was accidentally knocked off and fell the best part of 8 feet and not a model was damaged, and the case was fine.
As for having no pockets, cup holders etc. The case doesn't need it. Why? because it is filled with foam. I put rule books, codexs, army books, tape measure, dice cubes, templates etc on top of the covering foam and have never had the slightest problem with breakages.
The case could do with a restaining cord/chain on the lid, to prevent strain on the hinges, and I would prefer metal clips on the straps, rather than plastic. But other than that I can think of nothing else wrong with the design. The foam is excellent too.
If you have children then the aluminium case is perfect. It has a lock so they can't get at the minis. And the case is incredibly strong. Mine is used as a stool, a play table, and a step in the kitchen when the kids want to help with the cooking.
I use public transport and have never had any problems with the case, indeed it is possible a boon as it tends to stop people stiing next to me on the bus. And given it's size and strength it weight next to nothing.
I hope this helps.
